Flashback
"Dina. I can't do this." I panic trying to get up from the hospital bed.
"What do you mean you can't? You don't have a choice." She also panics slightly pushing me back down.
"It's gonna hurt. I know it will."
"Just think your bringing a life into the world." Jamila says all giddy.
"I'm trying. But all I can imagine is my vagina ripping apart!" I scream at her and she jumps back. "I can't do this."
"Reign, you have to." Dina says softly.
"I can't do this without him. I'm scared." I sniff. "He should be here with me but I took that away from him."
Both Dina and Jamila give me sad looks.
"She's fully dilated. She's gonna need to push now." I hear one nurse tell the other.
"No, I can't. I'm not ready." I panic and start to get up. "I'm not doing this."
"Ma'am please lay back." A nurse places her hand on my shoulder.
Dina groans. "Aubrei! Get a grip and push my grandson out right now!"
I feel my eyes sting at her yelling. How dare she yell at a pregnant woman.
"Okay, don't yell at me." I sob. "What do I need to do?"
"Push!" Everyone in the room yells.

After about 10 minutes of pushing. My son is finally here.
"Thank you." I say to the nurse as she places my screaming baby against my bare chest. "It's okay, baby. Mommy's got you."
Dina and Jamila come to my side. "He's beautiful." Jamila says and Dina keeps fanning her face trying to contain her emotions.
"All done." One nurse says as she lifts from between my legs. Fuck was she doing? "I'm done stitching you up."
Oh.
Another nurse comes over. "I'm going to clean him off and weigh him then he'll be right back in your arms okay?"
"In here, right?" I ask and she nods, pointing at the small tub next to my bed. I nod and she gently grabs my baby. The nurse who was stitching my woo-ha comes over and wipes off my chest.
"I'm gonna go check on MaKai and Raven." Jamila says softly and squeezes my hand.
"I'm so proud of you." Dina comes over and kisses the top of my head. I can't help but feel emotional. I tell her thank you yet my mind is only on Luca.
I wish he was here with me.
With us.
"A strong healthy baby boy. Weighing at 7 pounds and 4 ounces." The nurse says as she puts his diaper on and brings him back to my arms. I thank her again and she welcomes me then leaves.
Dina smiles down at him. "I'm going to step outside and let you two have some alone time."
"Wait." I stop her. "You're not gonna leave right?" She gives me a confused expression. "Sorry."
Her face saddens. "Reign, I would never leave you. You're my daughter, it may not be by blood but still. I would never abandon you."
I kinda feel like a idiot now. "I'm sorry. I just- I don't know."
