OASIS (drug) was created by a scientist who desperately tried to save their lover's life.
The scientist's significant other were apart of a special military unit named OASIS, so they already had the traits of a soldier.
Creating drugs out of pure desperation, turned out to be the scientist calling card.
It worked for a while. The soldier was alive and well but they didn't remember the good things in their life, only the war. This took a toll on the scientist, they wanted nothing but for the lover to remember who they were.
The scientist didn't lose hope, they tried everything to make them remember. Showing pictures, taking them to places they used to visit, seeing old faces. But none of that worked.
It wasn't until The scientist started secretly drugging their mate again, that they saw the slightest change in their personality.
The soldier became hostile to everyone except the scientist. They became so aggressive that they killed the innocent pregnant woman, from across the street.
Who only wanted to bring them a dish of food.
The scientist then realized what they had created.
A human, turned soldier, turned monster.
And it was all their fault. They had no choice but to put down the monster that was once their lover.
Due to this, the scientist fell into a deep depression. They felt lonely, scared, and not well.
The scientist did something extremely sickening. They harvested their lover's organs and blood. Extracting the drug from them.
Sixteen doses is what came to be. The scientist clung onto the drug, like it was their lover and bawled their eyes out.
The scientist looked at their lover's dismantled body and desperately pleaded for his wife to forgive him.
A decade later, the scientist had finally gained some strength and met with the victim's family.
He felt guilty but still he lied to the husband. Telling the man that his wife had PTSD from the war. The story he made up would've been believable if it wasn't that the husband served 18 months with the scientist's wife.
The man knew that the scientist was lying. He also knew that the scientist was smart, which is exactly why the scientist isn't behind bars.
"Do you know me?" The man asks the scientist. Who nodded his head confusingly.
"You're Jonah." The scientist speaks not remembering his neighbor's last name.
"I guess that's all you need to know but I know you too, Abraham Williams. You're a very talented man. A scientist, right?"
The scientist stilled. He couldn't move.
"I also knew, your wife. Shelby Williams, we served together. So this story you're telling me is a bullshit lie." The man says staring at the scientist. "She was part of my unit the OASIS. Shelby had gotten sick, so I sent her home. She had gotten worse and was on the brink of death until her loving husband saved her."
