Flashback
"Ramirez, this stays between me and you." I say passing over the small device.
"What is this?" He eyes the device.
"It's a tracker." He snaps his head to me. "I need to make sure."
"What if she's not, then what?"
"Then that's good."
"She won't trust you anymore. Eventually the tracker will have to be removed. What are you going to tell her?"
"I'll worry about that, when the time comes. Do your job and don't question me." I tell him before walking out.

I wake up to the sound of my phone pinging, letting me know someone is looking at my location.
I grab my phone and see 12 missed calls from Thomas, 5 each from Mike, Preston, and Owen. Ignoring them I look over to my side and see that Aubrei is gone. Getting up to go find her, I do my morning business and see that my arm is patched up.
I didn't do this.
The kitchen is cleaned, with the exception of the bullet holes in each wall. She must of did all of this when she woke up. I find her sitting outside on the patio/gazebo. I shouldn't even be thinking this right now but Aubrei looks gorgeous. Ethereal if you ask me. She's only in a white oversized button down, just staring off at nothing. The wind plays a huge part in this too, blowing her curls away from her face. "You'll catch a cold."
She looks my way but not at me. "I'm fine. It's heated." She points to the electric heater. I nod and we're meet with silence. It's not an uncomfortable silence but there's something about it.
I clear my throat which gains her attention. Fuck. She looks so innocent here. Who would've thought she was a stone cold killer. "Thomas and the others are on the way."
She nods. "I know I called them." She groans while getting up. "I don't know how long they'll be. The news said one of the roads are snowed in." I nod, she grabs her lower hip and steps back into the house.
"Wait." I stop her, blocking her way. I reach my hand out to where hers rest.
"Don't." She says but I ignore her, lifting up her hand and shirt. I see she proceeded with cutting the tracker out.
"Aubrei." I sigh. "Do you at least stitch yourself up?" The patch is soaked in blood.
"I ran out." She points at my arm. "I used a stapler but also ran out of staples."
"Let me change it."
"I got it." She stumbles into the doorway. I try to help her stand up straight but she jerks away from me. Damn near falling. "I said I got it."
"You're literally about to pass out. Stop being stubborn and let me help you."
She leans against the counter for support and huffs. "Okay. Grab that." She points to the alcohol on the table. "And can you look in one of those drawers, there should be more gauze pads in one." I grab the things she asked for and I also see some emergency wound closures.
Why didn't she just use these?
Grabbing a damp cloth, I begin to remove the old gauze. Once it's fully removed I place the cloth over catching any blood. "Hold this here." I tell her, while I get the disinfectant.
"Fuck!" She whimpers and I take a deep breathe. I remove her hand and begin to disinfect the cut. "Shit." She throws her head back. She knows exactly what she's doing. "You're only thinking with your dick."
"Are you not hearing the sounds you make, what am I supposed to think with?" I say and she rolls her eyes.
Grabbing the wound closures, I place them on her wound. "I forgot about those." She chuckles.
"Why would you make such a big incision?" I ask dressing the gauze on her wound.
"Why would you put a tracker inside me?"
"Touché." I look to the surgical dressing and give myself props. "You might need another shirt." I say but her shirt is already off. "Or you can leave it off, if you want."
"You would love that."
"I would." I shrug. There's no shame here. She shakes her head and puts on another shirt.
"They've just cleared the road. 20 minutes away." She reads from my phone. "One of your goons sent a text." She smiles and something snaps in me.
"Why are you smiling?" Her face drops.
"What? I thought—"
"You thought what? We were good?" I ask and she looks away. "You think just because we fucked, I would forget about everything?" I scoff. "It's gonna take a lot more than just a piece of a—" I look back at her feeling a painful sting on my cheek. I bite the inside of my jaw and laugh. "Get dressed." I snatch my phone from her. "We've already missed a lot. Wasting time here."
She blinks away a few tears. "What a waste it was." She turns around and heads to the bedroom.

Reign
2 weeks later.
I don't know why I thought things would be different after the night at the cabin. It was only sex.
Just like last night and the night before.
Purely fucking.
Nothing more nothing less.
I hang my head low the entire way back. Victoria throws her slick comments here and there but I ignore them. Only focusing on my hands and the cuffs.
I'm embarrassed about everything. We should have never touched each other that night. Or any of the nights after.
"You know." I raise my head and see it's only Victoria and I left. "You're just making things more worse. You and the seed you're carrying."
My body freezes and I can barely speak. "How—"
"I found them." She shrugs and releases my cuffs.
"But I hid them in the bathroom, there's no way—" I stop myself mid sentence. "He told me there were no cameras in there."
"He lied." She shrugs again. "It's funny how you believed him."
"Does he know?" I ask and she shakes her head.
"No, I removed that footage. It's only the four of us who knows." I nod. "But I didn't do this for you."
"What do you mean?"
"You and I both know a child shouldn't be dragged into this." She holds out a brochure. "Your appointment is in three weeks." She opens the door. "Oh and Aubrei, do make it on time." She shuts the door and I pick up the brochure.
