Luca
I knock on the front door waiting for it to open. The door is swung open and I fold my arms looking at the small person.
"I thought I told to stop opening doors without asking who is it?" I ask the kid.
"Sorry, they're both busy so I got it." He says and I walk in shutting and locking the door behind me.
I nod and ruffle his hair. "Just don't do it again, Ma'Kai." He nods, grabbing my phone. "Where's Lorenzo?"
"Getting his diaper changed, I think." Right then I hear little feet tapping against the floor. My child runs out the room naked and hides behind me.
"Lorenzo Mancini get back here!" I hear Mrs. Davis yell and Lorenzo throws himself into a fit of giggles. "Hi, Luca." She says and kisses my cheek.
"Good morning." I reach down and pick up my naked child. "I take it he's been a handful this morning."
"Handful is an understatement." She chuckles lightly. "How have you been?"
"Doing better. I was wondering if I could talk to you and your husband about something?"
"Of course. Let me finish dressing him and we can talk. Jim is in the kitchen making breakfast." I nod and thank the woman as she takes Lorenzo from my arms.
"You better not be buying anything, Kai." I turn around to him and it looks like I caught him in the act.
"I'm not." He turns the phone around and shows me the screen. It's a picture of Aubrei, she was about 8 months pregnant in that photo. "Will we see Ma-Brei again?" He asks.
"Do you want to see her again?" The little boy nods eagerly.
"Grandma Dina and Auntie Raven too." He smiles.
"I'll think about it." The smile disappears and he looks down.
"You said that last time." He slouches back. "You always say that but you never do."
"Ma'Kai—"
"She doesn't care about us anymore, is that why?"
"She does. She just needs to work on a few things before you can see her. She loves the both of you dearly." I tell him and he begins to wipe his eyes. "Cmon Ma'Kai, what did I tell you about that crying?" He continues to cry and I sigh, squatting down in front of him. "What if I tell you, you'll be able to spend your 10th birthday with them?"
"But that's in two months." He wipes his remaining tears and I nod.
"Yep. In two months you and Renzo will be coming to live with us." His eyes light up and he throws his arms around my neck. "Maybe even before then."
"We'll still visit Cheryl and Jim too, right?" He asks and I nod.
"Sure thing." I pat his back.

"So in two months?" Jim asks and I nod.
"Sorry for it being so late." I say and they both shake their heads.
"If you needed to wait longer, it wouldn't be a problem at all." Cheryl says.
"I kinda promised Kai, he'd spend his birthday with them."
"Are you two good?" She asks referring to Aubrei and I.
"Um, we will be. It's kinda on and off but for the sake of them, we'll get there." I nod my head to the boys.
"That's what we needed to hear." Jim says and pats my shoulder.
"And plus she's pregnant again." I scratch the back of my head and hear Jim say my man.
She smacks his arm then turns her attention back to me. "You wasted no time didn't you?" She laughs. "Well in due time I would like to meet her."
"Yes ma'am."

"How's he?" I ask my father's nurse, Sabrina.
"He's doing really well. He's showing clear signs that he'll wake up soon." She tells me as she writes something down on her clipboard.
"Thank you, sweetheart. Would you mind leaving us for a moment?" I hear a slightly familiar voice.
Turning around I see that's it, Adam Mancini, my cousin. The nurse looks at me confused for a sec but I nod to her. "What brings you here?" I ask my older cousin.
"Just came to browse New York before I take over." He smirks.
"Take over what?"
"Mancini Inc." He raises an eyebrow. "Grandfather didn't tell you?"
I chuckle to myself. "You best leave now."
"Leave? Did you not hear what I just said? I'm taking over, you have made no improvements of killing that slut—" I cut him off by holding my gun to his chin.
"Did grandfather not tell you that the next person he sent that I was going to kill them?"
"Luca. Why is it hard for you to understand what she did? She tried to kill you, she murdered some of your men. She put your father in a coma! Why don't you understand that she needs to die?"
I remove the pistol and take a step back. "I don't have to explain anything to you but she didn't do this for no reason. I've done things to make her do this."
"What OASIS? We all played a part in that not just you."
"But I gave the order! They were brutal but they were also some of the only family she had at the time."
"I don't care about her backstory. Grandfather wants her dead, so she has to die."
"Adam, what did you come here for?"
He looks away. "You better say your goodbyes now, Luke. Because once I see her. I'm going to be brutal." He walks closer to the door.
I laugh. "Adam, we're not allowed to kill each other cause we're first blood. But I swear to you on my kids, I will put your ass in a grave if you go anywhere near her." He smirks and walks out the door.
