"Honey, JJ is here!" Aaron yells up the stairs as he hears Emily's heels against the floorboards. He chuckles when he hears her swear something under her breath, followed by something falling on the floor. He turns to JJ with a smile, the blonde already holding their one-year-old in her arms. "Give her a minute."

"It's fine Hotch, we're in no rush. Are we?" She directed the question towards Amy, the baby giggling as she tickled her.

Emily and Aaron hadn't had a night to themselves in months, every date night plans ruined by work or kids or general exhaustion. Not that either of them had expected anything different after their daughter was born, less than two years after their son. Having two toddlers and a pre-teen kept them busy, but they needed a night together.

"Sorry, I'm almost ready!" Emily came rushing down the stairs while putting in an earring.

"Wow..."

The sound of Aaron's breathless word made her stop mid-step, eyes widening slightly as JJ and Aaron both stared up at her.

"What?"

"You look beautiful." Aaron climbed the few steps needed to be able to kiss her gently. The deep purple dress she had chosen was tighter than what she normally wore, ending just above her knees. She wore black heels and had curled the ends of her long dark hair, she was always gorgeous, but seeing her dressed up was a rarity nowadays. "More than beautiful. How did I get so lucky?"

"Don't get cheesy on me Hotchner." She still blushed at his words and took his hand with a squeeze. "And thank you for doing this JJ." She turned her attention to the blonde who was smiling at the couple making their way down to her.

"Oh please, it's not like I don't owe you a few date nights." She waved her hand dismissively just as Amy started squirming, clearly wanting her mother. "And he's right, you look hot."

"Hi sweetheart." Emily took the baby and put her on her hip with a smile. "Okay so you probably wont even see Jack leave his room except for food." She rolled her eyes at her oldest son. "Jamie has learned how to open the drawers despite them being baby proofed so he might try and grab things and Amy has been..."

"Emily relax." JJ laughed at her friend's anxiousness, remembering her own nerves whenever she left the kids with a sitter.

"Yeah but..."

"It's like I have kids of my own." JJ's big eyes twinkled as she teased her best friend. "I got this and besides, your kids like me better than my own." As on cue, Jamie came running in and jumped onto JJ's legs.

"Auntie JJ!" He beamed and JJ picked him up to hug him properly before setting the by down again, the three year old already bouncing in excitement.

"That is not true." Aaron chuckled before kissing his daughter gently on the forehead. "Okay you be good to Aunt JJ." He knelt down at eyelevel with his youngest son. "What did we talk about?"

"No sneaking cookies. No give Amy cookies. No cookies to myself." The sheepish look on his face caused Aaron's mouth to twitch in amusement.

"That's right." He hugged him and kissed the top of his head as well. "I'll see you in the morning okay buddy?"

Jamie nodded and watched as Emily put down Amy who immediately headed on wobbly legs towards one of her toys.

"You look like a princess mommy." He said and Emily laughed and pulled him into a hug.
