I groaned from the sunlight peeking through the window as it light up my face.
'I wonder what time it is,' I thought to myself, still in a daze from my slumber.
As I lifted my head from the pillow, my long hair tumbled down onto my back as if it were a waterfall.
My mind is fuzzy, but I slowly manage to lift my eyelids. Rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, I look around the room. It was glossy from the morning rays. With a mental sigh, I look to the spot next to me; empty. My sleep-filled mind panics, thinking of all the places that Kai could've gone. I enjoy waking up next to him, but I suppose that he had different plans this morning.
Pulling out my phone, I check the time. It is just daybreak, so I could fall asleep again, getting away with it.
Slowly, I slide back down into a comfortable position. Since we are ditching school today, I may as well make the most of it.
Just then, I hear a heavy padding of feet. I'm greeting by a half-awake Jongin tumbling into the room. He has one eye open, and the other squeezed shut. His hair is disheveled, and let's face it-- he appears to have just woken up. He looks like a mess.
"Jongin," I greet, beaming at the sleepy boy.
"Oh, Jagiya," he murmurs. "I didn't mean to wake you up."
"You didn't. But why did you wake up?" I watch as he clumsily makes his way back to the bed.
"I used the restroom."
"Oh," I breathe. I had thought that something might be wrong, but thankfully he is fine.
"When did you wake up?" He asks, hooking his arm around my waist and pulling me into him.
"Just now," my voice came out small and soft.
I smile as he nuzzled his face into my neck.We lay there as a warm, comfortable silence engulfs us. Kai's thumb strokes the bone of my hip, drawing little patterns.
"Kai," I speak suddenly. He looks into my eyes, but continues showing me affection through his fingertips. "Why are you so good to me?" It was an honest question. He seemed like such a bad guy at first, I'm still amazed at how wrong my assumptions were.
"Because I love you," Kai let out a small laugh. "It's my job to treat you like my princess."
I giggle slightly at his choice of words.I do not believe that I am a princess in any form, but if Kai wants me to be his princess-- then that is what I'll be.
"Do you love me?" He asks, peering into my eyes again. I knew I saw blush creep onto his cheeks, changing them a light shade of pink.
I advert my gaze, twiddling with my fingers.
"Of course I do.""Then say it," he commanded, but it came out as more of a request.
"I love you." I watched the smile grow on his face. Then I felt the need to repeat it. "I love you, Jongin."
* * *
"Do you need eggs?" I question, picking up one of the boxes.
Jongin and I decided to make a quick trip to the grocery store after the slumber that we previously had.
He was running low on food, and we all know that this situation could end badly if he were to get hungry.
"Hmm," he hummed, staring longingly at the assorted meats. "Yeah, sure."
I giggle at the hungry boy, tossing the box into our shopping basket.
"Shit," I mutter, realising that I could have broken the fragile food.
