"Maybe we should just end this,"
Chanyeol suggested while slowing down the speed of his vehicle. We'd been in this damn car for hours on end, trying to find any traces of the truck that contains Kai. We're next to helpless, but that won't force me to give up just yet.
"I think that we should keep looking," Chanyeol sighed gently at my words. I felt his hand reach for mine, tenderly sliding under it.
"I don't think that we're going to find him tonight."
I grip onto his smooth hand with a tight squeeze, and he glances at me with an apologetic look.As much of a jokester he is, Chanyeol has been taking this whole thing seriously. It almost makes me worried, not seeing his positive outlooks.
"Don't worry, okay? He'll come around eventually," he spoke in a soothing voice.
"But this is beyond Kai's control. He can't just choose when to escape and come back to us," I retort.
Chanyeol shifted around in his seat, and his lips pursed into a thin line. I could tell that he was deeply thinking about something, but maybe he was hesitant to say it aloud.
After a few moments of this repetitive behavior, he finally opened his mouth to say what's on his mind.
"Call Sehun," he commanded.
"Why Sehun?" I question, my voice raising almost an octave.
As long as I've known these boys, I never expected to need the help of Sehun when it involves Kai.
"We used to be very close with him. Even though Sehun isn't in this gang anymore, he knows the stuff."
"Anymore?" I blurt.
"When was Sehun even in this 'gang'?""Well..." He trailed.
"He wasn't exactly a member. Once Sehun knew that we were forming as a gang, he started to isolate himself.""Okay," I breathed, not having the desire to hear anymore. I find new information out every day, huh?
I hurriedly dialed his number and put the phone to my ear; hopefully Sehun is still awake.
"Hello," his sleepy tone greeted my ears.
"Hi, Sehun."
"What's wrong, Ari? You should be sleeping now."
"We've run into a bit of a problem."
"Alright, tell it to me."
By now, his voice wasn't filled with tiredness; it was more of a worried tone."Kai is in trouble, and I was told that you could possibly be of assistance."

"You must be insane," Sehun snapped at Chanyeol after we had explained the entire situation.
"I don't know what else to do!" He replied.
"Thanks for filling Ari's head with the idea that I was involved with that shit."
"Hey!" I cut in.
"We could argue all night, or we could devise a plan. I don't know about you guys, but I prefer the latter."The two boys both sighed, shifting around.
"I still don't understand why you wanted me. You could have asked anyone: Kris, Tao, D.O, Baek-"
"We get the point," Chanyeol blurted.
"So, what should we do now?" I inquired.
Sehun thought for a minute, tapping his fingers onto his structured chin.
I looked over to Chanyeol, who impatiently had his arms crossed. If my body wasn't filled with anxiety, I would get a joy out of his sass.
"Alright," Sehun finally spoke up. "Let's get inside of the car, and I'll guide you to where I believe that they will be."
We quickly obeyed, crawling inside of the vehicle, and Chanyeol speeding off.
"Aish," Sehun muttered, clicking on his seatbelt.
We pulled up to an alleyway that seemed to have no one else here. But I couldn't exactly tell, since it was extremely dark outside.
Small buildings stretched as far as my eyesight could strain, and it seems as if graffiti was scattered on the walls.
I heard Chanyeol let out a shaky breath as he put the car into park.
"Are you sure this is the location?" I inquire, facing Sehun.
"I'm not sure," he stated, opening the door and climbing out. Sehun then peeked his head inside, looking straight into my eyes. "But, it's worth the try."

We neared the alleyway, and my heart dropped into my stomach.
"He's in there," I said, just above a whisper.
"Oh, do you see him?" Chanyeol quietly asked, peeking around my shoulder.
"Intuition," Sehun confirmed, shifting his weight to a single foot.
Pushing the boys aside, I slowly enter the dark alley. It feels very eerie; almost like a horror scene.
It may not be safe to be walking in here alone, but my knowledge of right from wrong is blurred. There's one thing on my mind, and nothing is going to stop me.
I heard a few quiet groans from the middle of the alley. Spending my pace, I walk towards the sound.
"Kai," I breathe out while kneeling at his level.
He was lying on the floor, hands behind his back. It almost looked as if he's in fetal position, but I can't tell because of the darkness.
"How did they tie your hands up?" I rush out, feeling his wrists. I felt warmth, with scared me into believing that he's bleeding.
"Zip ties," he managed to say. "Ah, they kicked me."
Kai's words were filled with anger, but I could tell that the pain was stopping him."Ari," I heard Chanyeol call.
Shortly after, the two boys ran up to us.Without question, they immediately picked Kai up from the ground and started to carry him into the car.
"You have to tell us everything that happened," Sehun said firmly, releasing the ties from Jongin's limbs. But he remained silent, and Sehun began to get impatient.
And just before we thought that the danger was over, the sound of tires screeching against pavement sounded once more in the air.

Thanks again for all of your voting and kind comments.
I'm thinking about creating a new cover for this book, since I feel like Kai looks too innocent in the current one.
