-Hello Readers! This is my first Fanfic. So beware! It may be terrible! Or decent Criticism is very welcome in the comments because I'm very nervous about making this as good as I can. After the first few chapters it starts to get better i find. I wrote the beginning chapters ages ago without thinking about it
The first chapter isn't very Hobbit orientated (I do realize), I apologize for this but hopefully it works as a decent build up. Next chapter has more Middle Earth in it and will hopefully improve.
The characters and plot may not be the best but hopefully they're interesting enough.
I hope you enjoy!

-I don't own The Hobbit, Lord Of The Rings, Any of the songs, TV programs or Movies mentioned in this text in this chapter or future ones-

Kathy's POV

I slide my sunglasses down the bridge of my nose lifting my eyebrow quizzically, "Wait. This is your Aunt Carrie?" I whisper, Madilyn nods. I brush the hair that flies in and out of my face, out of my eyes, as fun as it is in a convertible (At least I find), it's quite annoying constantly having bits of hair fly in your face. Hailey looks even more confused than I do, "Yup!"

Hailey scrunches up her face, her sandy brown hair flies into her face. She honestly has beautiful hair, it's gorgeous, it seems to complement her green eyes well. Madilyn's hair is beautiful too, in fact Madilyn is really pretty in my point of view. Her eyes are the perfect shade of blue, Amazing, Natural blonde hair, slightly tanned skin, she's a knock out sometimes, but she does have her flaws, as everyone, she's an amazing girl though, as with Hailey. Their hair is so much better than mine. Not that it matters to me in the slightest but I do get somewhat envious and If I ever met my idols or crushes I don't want them around. I will admit I'm not ugly by any means just...ordinary. My long brown hair is slightly tinged still from...my 'accident' as a child but otherwise is fine. My blue eyes are average, skin tone-okay but I hate my freckles. There isn't many and they ARE light but oh god I wish I haven't got them. Ugh listen to me! I pay attention to detail to mu-

"You said she was crazy?" Hailey adjusts her jaw after the realisation that she might of said that a bit too loud. I pull my sunglasses onto the top of my head, keeping them out of the way. "She looks pretty normal too me" Hailey shrugs, I look over to the young woman with strawberry blonde hair that's flows back in the wind as she drives. Madilyn chuckles. "Wait to you get to know her... Or even get to the beach house" she shakes her head laughing to herself, Hailey and I exchange glances, "Didn't her daughter go missing? Isn't that wh-" Madilyn flinches, hissing at Hailey to stop talking. "SHH! She gets triggered really easy!" She hisses in a hushed whisper, Hailey bites her lip, looking down. I start to feel uneasy. Carrie can get set off easily? What if she freaks out and crashes the car? I shutter at the though. Hailey mumbles something that sounds like, 'I'm sorry...' while shaking her head.

I open my mouth to speak but Hailey changes the subject, "Is Adrianna almost finished?" She says, motioning to my pocket. I pull out my outdated flip open phone, I grin at my background. The Promotional picture for The Hobbit: An Unexpected journey. Where it all began. I love this picture, although I would have preferred them to have done a compilation picture like with the Lord of the Rings films, this was great in so many ways, 1. B- I am drawn from my thoughts when Hailey smugly pulls out her coloured IPhone. "Yes. I know, I know" I sigh, she laughs quietly, "Just teasing" she chuckles, "I hate you" I groan, she sticks out her tongue.

I open the most recent message from Adrianna, I hit reply,
-U almost done?
I text, Hailey giggles at the time it takes. I shake my head laughing at myself. "Shut up," I laugh, "I'll stop" she says raising her hands up. No reply comes. I shrug, sliding my phone back into my pocket. I play with the knitted edge of my gloves. The girls know what happened but I just feel a compulsion to wear them sometimes. It's a habit of mine.
Madilyn groans, "I hate this song." She shakes her head in annoyance. Carrie turns to her looking slightly hurt, before Carrie can object. She reaches underneath her pulling up a pink handbag. She pulls out a CD marked, 'Mix 12' without any comment she stretches towards the radio and slips the CD in the player. She sips at the coffee in the cup holder as the music starts up,
