Hello!
Just a quick note:
What do you all think about pairing the girls with some characters?
I mean, there's the age difference but I'm pretty sure I'm going to do Kathy and Bilbo so...
Would other pairings be a good idea or just keep it at one?
I hope you enjoy this chapter!

Hailey's POV
"Thorin, this is not a good idea. He can't even take a discussion about the dragon. What happens when he's in there?" Dwalin mumbles to the dwarf king on his right. I think he was trying to be rather quiet and discrete, but standing directly behind them, I'm not surprised I can hear them. Thorin looks at Dwalin. He doesn't respond and turns back to face the unconscious Bilbo that is being carried by Ori and Kili to his study. Gandalf sighs, resting his hand on his forehead. "Gandalf, do you really expect me to take along that hobbit?" Thorin grumbles as he approaches the wizard. Gandalf only smirks. "Just give the boy some time, Thorin."
Thorin scowls, but nods. "Fine. Your way it is. But we leave at sun rise" he announces. Sun rise? Okay. I've got until then to prove I'm worthy to join them. I mean it would suck if I ended up here and couldn't go with them. Maybe it's the way out?
"Hailey!"
I turn around to my right in search of the source of the voice but it's incredibly hard being surrounded by dwarves. It's Kathy. I know that. But where?
I hear Kathy laughing, "Your left" she says. I nod, "Right, I totally knew that" I lie, swinging to face her at my left. A grin is plastered on my friends face. I don't know if I've seen the girl so happy. She takes my hand and squeezes it. "The Company! They're here! They're here! What do we do?!" She squeals. She's trying to be discrete but it's not successful when she's jumping up and down. I try ignoring the looks on the dwarves faces as they walk past confused, but when their noses are crinkled up and they're looking at each other wondering what in Middle Earth is going on... I'm laughing.I notice Thorin across the room, he looks smug. He's smirking but looking directly at the two of us. I gulp and look down. He finds it amusing. I have to make a good impression...
Or they'll never let us with them. Kathy stops jumping and looks at the dwarves, who couldn't help but notice her. Her mouth forms an 'o' shape. "Okay, let's go into another room..."We enter the room Bilbo kindly has left for us to stay in. I look around. The first thing I notice is our old clothes, that we came in, now sit neatly on each bed.
Hmm. Why does he have this many beds anyway? I suppose hobbits are quite social creatures... But there's 4 beds? Actually 5. If you count the crib. Perhaps this was Bilbo's room when he was younger. But it doesn't particularly explain the amount of beds.Kathy beams though, I can tell she's forcing herself to not jump again although she really wants to. "Wait, what do we do? Do we just ask them?" She suddenly blurts out. I ponder for a moment. What do we do? We want them to ask us. But they won't even think of it unless we put the idea in their head. And prove ourselves. I'm sure they're going to be stubborn about letting us come.
"I'm not sure..." I say, a mere shrug of my shoulders occurs. She bites her lip. "You think they'll let us come? We can't do much" she squeaks softly. I think she's getting nervous. "I mean think about it... None of us have even touched a sword... What would we do during the Battle of the five armies?" She gulps. Good point.
But what if going on the journey leads us out... Although is that a good thing? Middle Earth is so wonderful. I know I can't leave it. I would give up my whole old life.
I think, trying to come up with something that will make her feel less worried. Then, the most brilliant thought hits me."Yes. But we know certain things. We... We could save the line of Durin. We could take the ring, perhaps if we find a way out of Middle Earth we could take it with us. Sauron wouldn't know where it was, Frodo wouldn't have to go through so much trauma..." I say, a smile tugging at my lips. Kathy knits her brow together. She's thinking of it. "Yes... But what if Bilbo gets in trouble because of it? What if Frodo can't be adopted by Bilbo because he died on the quest?" She says, fidgeting with the tips of her gloves, pulling with the fraying material.
I sigh. I hadn't thought of that. It could kill Bilbo. What then? "Do you have to argue with everything? There's always a loophole. Besides, we could take it after the journey"
Kathy smiles. "Okay that's pretty smart... Even if they don't let us go, we could see Bilbo after the journey" she says with a shrug. I nod, "Yep. But they'll let us go. Why would we be here if they wouldn't let us go? There must be a reason!"
Kathy raises an eyebrow, she opens her mouth in an attempt to speak up but a shriek interrupts. "MISS HICKS! PLEASE PUT THAT DOWN!"
I gulp, looking at Kathy. Kathy sighs.
