Hello!
I'm not sure anyone remembers this fic or was overtly invested in it but 5 years later I have returned!
Looking back on this fic... oh boy. There's quite a lot wrong with it. Grammar issues, lack of proper paragraphs, basic retelling of just the film's plot, Mary Sues-and so on.
It was initially written when I was about 12 in my last year of primary school when I was first introduced to fanfiction and in the midst of a massive phase where I was obsessed with the a Hobbit film trilogy (pre-Battle of the Five Armies release.) I loved LOTR too but I was definitely a lot more biased towards The Hobbit and had more knowledge about it. I wrote this fic on a whim with no real direction and a bunch of terribly underdeveloped characters and a clear self-insert on my iPod touch, while I listened to Mr. Brightside by the Killers on repeat. About a year or two later I started using Wattpad and I decided to publish this. It got an upgrade, because even then I could tell there was some jarring flaws, and I started reworking the chapters then publishing them.
This fic came into my mind while rewatching the films last night (something I haven't done in awhile; I'm such a fake fan,) and I thought that in 2020 I would try to once again rewrite it and share it here! It's mostly as a little challenge to see how much I can improve this fic without changing key core concepts and plot ideas I had when I first conceptualised it, but also to give the few readers who never got a update (and wanted one) something that's looooooooong overdue (if they're even still active lmao.)
I haven't used Wattpad for a long time, but I thought that bringing back this fic in 2020 would be something I could enjoy during what's likely going to be an intensely stressful year (I'm entering my last year of secondary school) and come back to when I just need a rest. The updates won't be super frequent but I thought it would be fun to give this fic the treatment it deserved :)
