EVE POV

Days passed on since Nyssa made that declaration to me. The disaster that had almost happened because of my strange hormones had been avoided and it seems that I have gotten a friend because of it. When Nyssa told me her story, I didn't know how to feel but I was also glad to finally understand how things were from her point of view.

Being here, I have greatly altered her life here and it seems that I have gained her loyalty. Strangely enough, I feel like I can trust her to have my back during my time here as a member of the Shields, also it reminded me that there are things that I could never truly tell her. The reason I was here in Alvarez in the first place, spying for Mavis. While it was easy to think that everyone here in this continent is evil, but the feeling I have gotten from it, is exactly similar to Fiore.

These people despite being under the control of an Empire, the people here were quite happy from the many walks I have done around the capital. Since my fame because I ended the Rebellion, I have been recognized quite a lot by the numerous soldiers that patrolled the city and even gotten some salute as they passed by. It was quite different than the time when I was recognized for being a wizard of Fairy Tail…I couldn't really explain it, but it just felt different.

Thinking of Fairy Tail, my mind returned to the rest of the guys, wondering exactly what they were up to these days. From the last time I spoke to Erza, she was working with Jellal and his team to keep Fiore safe thought it made me wonder about Mui as well. Those times made me think of Sakura and Miyu, and how they were doing?

I wanted to visit them, but I was on a mission here for Master Mavis, I can't simply walk away no matter how melancholy I was feeling at the moment. Since I didn't have a lot of mission to do as a member of the Shield I mostly hung around the city and explore it to my heart content.

But even that had started to lose its appeal so in an impulsive decision, I decided to visit the Shaman and catch up with how he is doing. Making my way toward where the small hunt was situated and climbing up the side of the cliff, I found the old man seating outside of his home nursing a cup of tea.

"Eve Sky," he greeted probably having sense me coming, "I left a cup inside for you."

"Thanks Agnitio," I answered giving him a small smile, thought I know he couldn't see it.

Entering inside the house I picked up the cup that was on the table and made my way outside again, before taking a seat beside the elderly man. The two of us sat in companionable silence for a while, taking in the taste of the jasmine tea he was serving.

"You've been busy the past month since you left," Agnitio started, "I could feel your power from here."

"Yes," I answered him softly.

"Something the matter?" he asked, "You don't sound as convicted as you did the last time you were here."

I stared at the cool green liquid that was inside the cup in my hand.

"Sometimes I wish people were just as evil as I believe them to be," I started, "That they didn't care for their own people, that they would simply be…evil."

The Shaman let out a small hum.

"Having a conflict about why you came here to this country?" he asked.

"More likely I have never been on the side to manipulate's someone trust in me," I told him, "I was never on the side to betray someone who stood by me for so long. I'm someone who values my friendship with others and it hurts when I was betrayed…but it makes me wonder…how would Nyssa feel if she knew what I really was?"
