CHAPTER 1
"Anti-void"Note:
There's also a copy of this revised chapter at the very last part titled "Back From The Dead, Baby!". I just wanted to put this in front so people can have the freedom to either read this or not.
I changed the point of view to 3rd person's POV because this is more formal than changing POVs every time. I have grown accustomed to being formal so here you are. If you are not used to reading this type of perspective, you are free to leave. But if you are curious about the changes in this version, feel free to read it!
I'm really proud of this one. I hope you enjoy reading this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it. Have fun!
P.S. Frisk is still she/her in this version.
----
3rd Person's POV
MTT Resort.
How many resets had she been there? How many times had she interacted with Sans with the same lines over and over? How many times had she dealt with almost the same events the very moment she chose to reset?
She didn't know the answer herself.
A sigh escaped from Frisk's mouth as if wanting to end all her burden, right there, right now. After staring at the entrance of the resort for a good couple of minutes, she finally turned her head to the monster she was supposed to be taking dinner with.
"Hey, I heard you're going to the core," started Sans, his hands shoved in his jacket's pockets. It was still a wonder to Frisk if his elbows ever get numb from that position. Every time they had the chance to interact with each other, his hands never left those pockets--only sometimes.
Well, what could she say? He's a skeleton. No muscle, no anything, just pure bones... and magic.
"How about grabbing some dinner with me first?" Sans added. Frisk nodded her head in agreement. He walked past her but stopped just before the entrance of the alleyway. He gestured his head towards the dark alley to which she followed.
Frisk watched the skeleton that seemed to know very well what was going to happen for the next minutes. She wanted to open her lips, wanted to say the things she had been excavating in her chest for the last timelines yet her mouth just won't cooperate with her.
Perhaps she felt she had no right to even look at the monsters she slaughtered a couple of times, especially the one in front of her--who certainly had known about her 'boredom' ever since her first couple of genocide resets.
Sans looked behind just as he stopped in his tracks. "Hold onto me, kid," he said to the girl that was almost the same height as his. His eyes went down to her hand that opened and closed, it seemed to be holding back from touching the hem of his jacket. He returned his gaze to her eyes which were the complete opposite of what her hesitant body was showing him--an emptiness he was so familiar with.
"It's just a few steps ahead, you're seriously backing out now?" he frankly asked. "I witnessed every reset, there's no benefit in cowering." With a heavy sigh, she held onto the brink of the hem of his blue jacket. Sans flicked his thumb and middle finger to do his shortcut.
The human closed her eyes as she anticipated the impact. Feeling her surrounding, Frisk slowly opened her eyes. She was expecting a dimly lit room with a table from which she'd be across Sans.
But she definitely didn't expect a whole-ass empty room with anything but endless white from every corner of where her eyes could reach.
Her brows creased and looked at Sans who was just as confused as her. "Where are we?" she asked, bewilderment completely taking over.
