~
Third-person POV.
"Sapnap!" Karl calls out walking into the Art staff rooms, grabbing an apron, and tying it around his waist. "Are you here?"
"I'm in here," Sapnap's voice rings from the small store room. "Just getting some clay," Sapnap walks out of the small room, hands holding a large slab wrapped in plastic.
When he places it down on the table there's a loud thud that echoes around the room. "Are we making clay sculptures?" Karl asks.
"Kinda," Sapnap mumbles, unwrapping the large slab of clay. "We're gonna be making bowls and stuff using a spinning table,"
"Oh, I've never used one of those before," Karl says as he walks up to stand next to Sapnap. His arm brushed against the shorter man.
"That's fine, I'll teach you," Sapnap tells him, turning to look at Karl, smiling. "One of the pros of doing art shit with an art teacher,"
"Yeah, a shit art teacher," Karl mumbles with a giggle, earning an elbow to his ribs as Sapnap turns around with the now cut-off clay in hand.
"I hate you," Sapnap seethes, a small smile spreading across his lips as Karl grins at him. "You're the worst. Take this,"
Sapnap throws the large clump of wet clay at Karl, who narrowly catches it in time. The weight makes him hunch over for a second before he adjusts himself. "Over here?" Karl asks walking towards the seats next to two tables with small cake stand-looking platforms on the edge of each.
"No, outside under the car, yes there, dumbass," Sapnap tells him with a fond yet sarcastic smile, making Karl roll his eyes.
"Okay, what do I do?" Karl asks, holding the clay over his shoulder as he looks down at the small table in front of him.
"Put your foot here," Sapnap directs, moving his foot to rest on a small black pedal that Karl hadn't noticed until now. "And start pushing it down over and over slowly,"
Karl follows his direction causing the small metal circle in front of him to start to spin. The speed slowly increased. "Okay, you don't need to do it that fast," Sapnap says with a chuckle, resting a hand on Karl's thigh to motion for him to stop his pedaling, the placement of his hand making Karl's face warm. "Yeah, that's it," Sapnap comments quietly as the wheel begins to slow.
"Okay, now we throw the pottery down onto the wheel," Sapnap tells him, raising his lump of clay.
"Wait, wait," Karl says quickly. "Throw?"
"Mmhm," Sapnap nods.
"How do I know I won't miss? What if it goes everywhere? How do I know when to do it?" Karl rambles making Sapnap laugh quietly.
"Would you like a countdown?" He offers with a soft smile.
"Yes please,"
"Okay, one—" Sapnap raises his clay again, Karl mirroring the movement. "—two—" The two men look at one another, Sapnap smiling reassuringly at Karl. "—three,"
With a loud thud the slabs of clay are thrown onto the spinning plate, the rectangle shape spinning making Karl's head spin with it. "See! You did it! Good job, dude," Sapnap celebrates, putting a hand up for a high five, which Karl returns.
"Thanks," Karl says gripping their hands together, neither one of them moving. The two hold eye contact for far too long for it to be normal before Sapnap clears his throat, removing their intertwined hands. "Now what?"
