Zora's Domain & Vah Ruta

Soon after, Link made it to a rainy bridge. The bridge was picturesque and blue, and looked like it glowed in the dark. Suddenly, a shark-like Zora leapt from the taller tower of the bridge, greeting him cheerfully.

This Zora introduced himself as Sidon, the Zora Prince, and invited Link to make his way to the domain so he could help stop Vah Ruta, who had been terrorizing the domain for 100 years, raining water atop the region and causing floods.

Link agreed to help, and slowly made his way to the domain along the winding path, dodging lizalfos and octoroks along the way.

When he made it to the domain, it seemed everyone knew him already. Some resented him, for some reason, and some seemed to like him thoroughly. Sidon introduced Linn to his father, who recognized him as a royal guard, who everyone had thought was dead. Link explained that he was not dead, and that he was here to help conquer Vah Ruta. So don's father, King Dorephan, agreed, saying that they needed all the help they could get. Muzu, who had been listening and who had been Princess Mipha, Sidon's sister's, tutor, distrusted Link, saying that he was the one who had caused Mipha's death. King Dorephan aisle could help, as it was not, in fact, Link's fault. He also disclosed that his daughter had had a gift to give Link, the Zora armour, which is a symbol of love, respect, and sometimes marriage among the Zora.

Link gathered shock arrows so he could face the beast anyways, and Sidon and Link faced the huge elephant-like machine together in the East Reservoir Lake.

To take down Vah Ruta, the first step was shooting shock arrows at its back to activate the gate that could open and allow anyone to access the Divine Beast. Sidon swam Link around the lake while Link used the power of the Zora Armour to climb up the waterfalls spewing from the Divine Beast's back. Then, Link shot the sensors midair , and landed back on Sidon's back. They dodged through ice that flew at them from the Beast's body, and broke it using the Cryonis rune.

Once Link had triggered all of the sensors, he went atop Vah Ruta and headed towards the terminal that would distill a map and controls to tilt the trunk of Vah Ruta. He made it, avoiding watery patches in the floor, and he heard Mipha's voice above him, guiding him with her kindness.

She helped him through activating all of the terminals in the Divine Beast until the time came to activate the main terminal. Link pressed is Sheikah Slate to the terminal, but instead of it freeing the Divine Beast of its plague, it released a blight unto Link.

The Malice Incarnate known as Waterblight Ganon hefted it's spear mightily, but Link used the water around him to his advantage and took down Waterblight swiftly, tapping his Sheikah slate to the terminal.

Links then saw the ghost of Mipha, and had a heartwarming though one-sided conversation with her, where she gave him her sacred Zora power, Mipha's Grace, which heals any person using the power of water. Mipha gifted Link this power under the condition that he could only use it on himself, and only occasionally. So, Link was returned to the Zora domain to tell the tale of what happened.

He then headed off to do what he must do next.
