Link had conquered all of the Divine Beasts, but on his way between each of them, he had other important quests to attend to. For example, a man named Bolson offered him a house that was being demolished to be replaced with new houses. Link saved up his rupees and fully decked out the house that he bought, spending a total of 50,000 rupees, the cost that the village was paying to take it down.
Another great adventure for Link was the collection of all 900 korok seeds. Koroks, or the Koroki, are an ancient race related to the Great Deku Tree, that rests in the middle of the Deku Woods and the Lost Woods. The Korok tribe has been long forgotten, as nearly every citizen has been in hiding from Hestu, a larger Korok, who uses their Korok seeds to fill his magical maracas but has not been able to since the Koroks disappeared. When Link found all 900 koroks, he was able to upgrade the space he had in his inventory significantly and fully, so that he could carry more weapons, shields, and bows.
Also taking root in the Deku Forest was a blade of power, a sword to seal the darkness, that Link picked up once he could handle it. This sword, known as the Master Sword, is an ancient relic passed down from generations of the royal family to each holder of the Triforce of Courage. This sword a very powerful, and necessary when defeating the scourge of Hyrule: Calamity Ganon.
After completing all the shrines on the Great Plateau, there was still 116 more to go. Shrines we're scattered across Hyrule for Link to find (See The Sheikah Trials: 10,000 years ago). Once Link had completed all 120 shrines, he could pray to Hylia to fully upgrade his hearts and stamina to become more sturdy and more able to complete more difficult tasks.
Link was also commissioned for side quests: small favours for folks he met along the way. Some quests were easier than others, while some required Link to travel all across Hyrule to complete. Of course, Link couldn't solve every single person's problems, but he still tried to complete each side quest, even though it wasn't strictly necessary.
Now, of course Link did other things around Hyrule, such as visiting all of its different locations, but this pretty much covers everything that Link did before going face to face with Calamity Ganon.
After completing everything he could, Link set off to make it 100% of the way, and defeat Calamity Ganon once and for all.
