A hug always makes everyone feel better, right?
Perhaps it wasn't as complex as that, perhaps that was just childish to assume. The fiery scorch on his skin, the pained yelp leaving his breath, (Y/N) couldn't even put the sensation into words other than the imperative feeling that reigned his mind the moment the Hellfire Devil spoke to him like that.
At first his arms struggled under his own decision, his shirt caught fire almost instantly and resented the torment it was casted into, along with his own skin and flesh. But it wasn't that he felt at peace until the flames engulfed him completely, it wasn't that his heart felt soothe until the Hellfire Devil accepted the hug just as she did in that very last second.
"Help them recover, Makima." (Y/N) voice cut through the silence once again, this time the one that was caused by the sudden demonstration of his newfound strength. The Darkness Devil was still suspended on the air, right above them all; seemingly trying to comprehend what had just struck it in the first place. "I'll just take care of this."
The silence that preceded his words was deafening.
Makima stared into, what she believed, were the Hellfire Devil's eyes. Black pieces of stone, shiny fragments of obsidian and magma thad had been cooled off, it all made up his body. Normally in rough shapes and messily organized, now they shone brightly over the flames that surged through the gaps between his newfound 'flesh', polished even. Every part of his body seemed perfected; the sprouting golden flames that emerged from the top of his head this time flowed down, in the resemblance of a golden mane of long hair that fell until his waist, and even his face seemed to be more refined, looking almost exactly like (Y/N)'s human face. This time however, he was missing one of his eyes, as the socket was replaced by a golden flower that sprouted out of it covering almost half of his face, a small version of the same flower he had summoned against the Eternity Devil. This was the first time Makima had ever been ordered around, and found herself fighting against the conflicted pang of pain that swelled into her chest as she looked at this new form (Y/N) adopted.
So ultimately, Makima simply nodded.
(Y/N) shot up into the sky, leaving a trail of golden fire behind him, reaching for the Darkness Devil still in the air. It all happened in the short span of the blink of an eye, and the Darkness Devil had been shot up against the ground once again, this time by a kick that connected straight into its chest.
Colliding into the floor, the Darkness Devil tried to compose itself, extending one of its arms towards the already approaching figure of (Y/N), and one of his arms was suddenly blown away by the sheer force of the Darkness Devil's attack. It almost felt like a train had crashed down into his body, but he ignored the pain, and continued his assault as his missing arm was promptly regenerated by the golden fire that composed his body's core.
This wasn't like anything Power had ever seen before. Aside from (Y/N)'s new appearance, she was bewildered to observe the way he moved in battle. The normally well thought and executed attacks and movements (Y/N) performed in battle had now been replaced completely by the beastly approaches and strikes of a blood starved beast. The chains protruded out of his arms, and danced along his movements as if they had life on their own, but the chains had changed too, and the right one had a pointed end like the head of a spear, while the other one had ended in an iron circle that resembled a small aegis.
Power was cut off her train of thought however, as she felt a couple of blood drops falling right into her lips. Upon looking upwards, she realized Denji, who had been saved by Makima moments ago, had cut one of his wrists in order to help her heal, and smiled promptly at him.
