Could he take such a responsibility?
Was it right to bring her to take it as well?
No, it wasn't.
Brought to shine under the moonlight, dark shallow void founded a parade on which he stood. (Y/N) opened his eyes slowly, once again and sought for the usual light he had got to know, and understand, belonged only to her. Andromeda stood proudly before him, the shattered and once weak figure she once wore before him was almost restored, golden hair of flames shone beautifully as the flames soared upwards, and her eyes, brightly sparkling engulfed in proud flames, staring back at him.
"My flower." She called for his name as her figure of golden flames seemed to reform her shape and contort in strange ways as she got closer. It didn't really seem like she was moving on her own, rather like fire moved along to create the illusion of movement. "We haven't spoken for quite a while now." She said. "I'm sorry for that."
"Don't worry about that." (Y/N) waved it off as Andromeda got closer, still staring into her eyes. "You're always with me, it doesn't matter that much whether we talk or not."
"These past few days haven't been the greatest for you, still." She said. "Yours is the decision, may you perform correctly for what I dream of..."
"What do you mean?"
"Darkness looms over us right now, troubled times are yet to come." She explained, leaning in closer to match their eyes at the same level. "My ambition was to give you a life, hoping for you to learn how to live, protect and love." Her voice grew fainter as she spoke. "My wishes have been fulfilled, but yours is this new life, and so, this is the time for you to decide about what to do next."
(Y/N)'s half shut eyes stared as the figure of Andromeda tried to revolt over this idea, and he understood quite quickly the implications of her words. "You're asking me to-"
"Decide whether you wish for me to stay by your side or not." Andromeda interrupted, a mere blink of her eyes let these words slowly settle down. "The meanings of our contract had been fulfilled, and now, you're free to decide if you'll keep and accept me as your heart."
"I..." (Y/N)'s voice almost shattered staring into her eyes. He wished to do the contrary, in fact, but the blurry thoughts at the corner of his mind spoke an unnerving truth. "I don't think I want that, Andromeda." He reached for her face, quivering hands being seared by the golden flames of her skin.
"But why?" She reached for his touch too, although seared by her golden fire, he didn't even flinch as she desperately asked for an explanation.
"This is no life for you." He explained, and she stared back into his eyes. "To live only at my command and desires, yet not a single trace of virtue on her heart to be poured into your own mind." His voice almost cracked. "I want you to live as well, and to be free."
"I don't want such a thing." Andromeda almost cried, her suddenly loud voice boomed over the reality of their realm, shattering the void as light was brought from the puncturing holes above them, resembling now faint stars shining over them. "My sole existence is to live by your side."
"That is no life." (Y/N) kept going. "I never understood what it was to have nothing, until I had everything." His hands burned still, his skin scorched as she tried to embrace him, searing burn marks of arms deeply embedded on his chest.
"You aren't even making sense!"
"Have you ever wondered what this world could bring to your life?" He asked. "I don't want you to live only for me, I could never do that to you."
