"It's considered obstruction of justice when a public safety hunter kills a devil a civilian hunter is already engaged with." Makima certainly didn't seem quite happy with it. "Normally, you would get arrested for something like this."

(Y/N) was looking at the ground the whole time, his head low, as if he was a little child getting scolded by his mother. For his point of view, it had been quite embarrassing to do something like this no more than couple hours after he was instructed to do his first job. Power was right at his side, and on the other hand, seemed somewhat defiant towards the statements and held a slight frown, acting as if she couldn't listen to what Makima was saying.

"Power, you need to think a little more before you act." Makima continued. "As for you, (Y/N), you should've arrived earlier to meet up with your buddy. What took you so long?"

(Y/N) wasn't exactly comfortable admitting he wandered in the streets for a little longer because he didn't want to get closer to the bloody stench he felt, the one he hated so much, in the railway station. Makima took a deep sigh accepting his silence as an answer, before looking at Power once again.

"Power, since you were the Blood Devil before becoming a fiend, battling using your blood is your speciality..." That certainly explained the scent (Y/N) was able to feel all around her, deeply rejecting it. "But the actions and decision you seem to make all revolt around your emotions and excitement, I don't think I have to explain to you how much this may harm serious operations in the future... Maybe you weren't cut out to be a devil hunter after all?"

All colors of Power's already fair skin seemed to flush after hearing the statement, and (Y/N) could see her shiver, eyes wide open looking at Makima. "Exci-?! No, this is a huge misunderstanding Ms. Makima!" Power began, quickly reaching for (Y/N) at her side. "This guy right here was battling the demon before I arrived, I just tried to help!" She said, shoving (Y/N) by the collar of his shirt towards Makima.

"That's not true at all! You liar! I was calmly talking to the civilian hunter about the situation before you turned the poor ol' devil into mashed potatoes!"

"I'm not lying! This pathetic human was doing a shame of himself against that devil and I had to save him! His shirt is all stained in blood!"

"My shirt was completely clean before you had the brilliant idea of nuking a living meatball right in front of me!" He yelled, turning back to stare at Makima shortly after. "Please, Miss Makima you can interrogate the civilian hunter!"

"Liar! Only humans can deceive other with such foul wretched lies!"

"Can you two, please, be silent?" Makima interrupted, in a dangerously calm manner as her gaze shifted quickly between the two of them.

"O-of course..." Power, again, seemed to shudder before her very words, and tried to keep her back straight. (Y/N) choose not to respond to Makima's petition, his mind more focused about why Power seemed so scared of her in the first place, and thought it was slightly odd.

"Good girl, Power. To be honest, I don't care which of you was at fault." Makima began in the same menacingly calm voice. "Nevertheless, you two are now part of a team, even more so the two of you who are expected to be buddies, the closest companions, and are expected to behave as such, these kind of disagreements between the both of you won't be tolerated in the future." She explained, still her gaze darting between the two of them. "You are expected to work as buddies, do you think you can show me that?"

Power seemed froze upon her piercing glare, and (Y/N) noticed this quite promptly. "Of course, Ms. Makima." (Y/N) responded quickly after seeing Power unable to answer.

Power stared at him intently.

The lights of the vending machines were the only source of lighting in the dark room on which they both now stood. Their patrolling had brought them to wander around the northeast section of Tokyo, and they silently agreed to make a stop to rest at a particular vending machine station, no more than a small building decorated with a neon sign none of them was actually able to read.
