33. Naked Gold.

"You're the killer of my previous contractor... Aki Hayakawa's murderer." The Future Devil voice came through its gritted teeth, venom imbued in every one of its words, a snarky jester tone on them.

(Y/N) shivered under its words, although he didn't really let the devil see his weakness. "Yeah, I see you remember me fondly." He got closer. "I saw you standing in a roof when I killed him, you were almost laughing..."

"To be turned into what you hate the most, be hated by everyone in town and then be killed by your best friend in cold blood." The devil's head twitched in strange ways as it leaned closer to (Y/N)'s. "He suffered such a terrible death, which could've been avoided."

"Oh, that was all I needed to hear." Paying attention to the devil's words, (Y/N) knew fully well they were only meant to arise his anger, but a very insignificant slip on his last sentence made it obvious for him. "There's a way to change the future."

The devil laughed heartily hearing his words. "So that's what you seek for."

"I'm here to make a contract with you."

It kept laughing. "You must admit it first! The future rules!"

"Yeah, that's not gonna work."

"Such a party pooper you are." This devil really was testing his patience.

"As far as I can see, you're not seeing only one future which is absolute, you just predict the most plausible one to happen." (Y/N) made a pause as the devil stared at him. "There was a way to save Aki, but you choose to show him the way to make his death unavoidable."

"You're not as stupid as I thought." Its snarky voice said. "And now your precious fiend is gonna die."

"Now, you're gonna give me the exact information for Power's death to be avoided." (Y/N) got even closer, staring at the devil face to face. "By the establishments of this contract."

"Oh, it will cost you dearly!" The devil laughed. "So much you won't even be able to see the fruition of your hard work!"

The Future Devil tried to reach for (Y/N)'s shoulder with its hand, but at the mere touch of its fingers with his skin, a blazing shower of golden fire sprouted out of them searing its entire arm altogether.

"You see." (Y/N) started as the Future Devil squealed in pain, backing up against the wall. "I don't think you understand the kind of position that you're in." He said. "You're not in control here."

The devil looked straight into his eyes, a shameful fear embedded on its own. "The Hellfire?"

(Y/N) got closer, walking straight towards the now cornered devil. "I'm not the one making a contract with you." He said. "You're the one that's making a contract with me, and for just a small sliver of information, you won't suffer as much." A small pause as the devil tried to understand this. "Oh, and now that I think about it, I want to see whatever Aki saw before he was turned into a fiend."

The devil laughed then. "Public security won't allow you to make such a thing, you can't kill me here!" It said. "If I were to be killed, I would come back to earth later, that's why I'm contained in the first place."

"Oh, I know I can't kill you." (Y/N)'s made a motion with his right hand, on which he seemed to be holding something. "So I have this small gift for you, perhaps it will make you change your mind about this." He said. "Maybe it will make you agree to the contract."

As (Y/N) extended his palm towards the devil, it was able to discern in that very moment the image of a beautiful flower made of golden fire resting atop of his hand. In that fateful very moment, the Future Devil was forced to relive all the pain and suffering it had ever inflicted upon others.
