The Surprise Before Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all throughout Vale
A peace had settled, so silent and frail;
Decorations were hung around Beacon with care,
In hopes that Christmas morning soon would be there;
The students were nestled all snug in their beds,
Visions of testing new gear dancing in their heads;
And games of spars and winter rides in wagons,
All save for one, an ambitious little dragon.
Quiet as an owl, he rose without clatter,
His sisters not waking to see what was the matter.
Through the window he flew like a flash,
Making for the ground and was off in a dash.
The shattered moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to his wondering eyes should appear,
But a coffee addict, a mustachioed man, and their serious peer.
With a nod, they set out for their festive cause,
(Y/N) entered the cafeteria to assist old Oz.
More rapid than Nevermores, they set to their Christmasy game,
(Y/N) thought of the others, calling their teams out by name;
"For RWBY! For JNPR! For CFVY! We away!
Tomorrow shall be the most joyous of Christmas days!
From the Emerald Forest! To every Beacon hall!
We shall bring Christmas cheer, to one and to all!"
Oz chuckled as he watched the young dragon fly,
His spirit burning brighter than any star in the sky,
So around the cafeteria, with trinkets they flew,
With presents, cards, candy, and Homework passes too.
And then, came the dawn, the students all rose,
Giving Christmas greetings garbed in their best winter clothes.
Team RWBY awoke, hearing the merry making sound,
And realized their little brother was nowhere to be found.
A moment panic was halted by a letter,
Which (Y/N) admitted he wanted Christmas to be better.
So with some begging and heckling to say the least,
Ozpin decided to give Beacon a great Christmas feast.
Their eyes sparkled as they dashed with great reason,
To find the lunch room embodying this wintery season!
And Oz, clothed with a red suit and cane,
Took a bow as he began to explain;
(Y/N) had wanted return all the love they had shown,
So he had planned this party, with a little taste of home;
And with a flick of his came, figures emerged from behind the tree:
Tai, Qrow, Winter, Ghira, and Khali.
Joyous, they ran for kisses, hugs, and playful shoves,
Even Winter joined in for some holiday love;
But even with hearts filled with Christmasy light,
The girls worried their brother was still nowhere in sight;
With a "Ho! Ho! Ho!", he stood at the top of the tree,
Dressed as Saint Nick in all his holiday glee,
He jumped into their arms, greeted by praise,
His surprise making this their favorite of days;
Yet even through the grateful thanks and family bliss,
He couldn't help but think there was something amiss.
But Ruby, knowing the story, whispered just what to say:
"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-DAY!"
