"Time doesn't take away from friendship, nor does separation." — Tennessee Williams
————————————————————Chapter 18

I rearranged the lining of my dress, glaring at myself in the mirror. As much as I hated what it was, I could admit it: I looked hot as fuck.
Luke and I had finsihed the call after he'd given me as little information as possible. The event would be this Saturday, it would be a couple of hours away from Washington, and it was more of a mix of a charity event, and ball than anything. That only meant I had the rest of today and tomorrow to get ready.
I so badly wished for Raven and Kimberly to be here though, face to face. They were my girls, and they would be the ones to help me pick out the perfect dress.
I wanted to be a bitch and show up in a trash bag, but I was simply too sexy for that. I wasn't going to change that fact for Luke, regardless of how funny his reaction would be.
I'd called the girls to let them in on what was going on, but neither were surprised. I guessed Luke had already told Kade and Levi, and they told them. It seemed like everyone was tuned into my life except me.
Even though they couldn't be here physically, I still included them. A video call wasn't the same as having them here physically, but it was still something. Quinn was off today, so I invited her with me, as well.
"Show us," Kimberly said excitedly. Quinn angled the phone to me. Raven and Kimberly both grinned at the sight, and Raven even managed to earn the looks of several onlookers as she hollered.
"That settles it," she beamed at me. "I'm coming back early." Kimberly chuckled, nodding in agreement. "I'm catching the first flight down there tonight. Screw spring break."
I chuckled, smoothing my hand down the dress. "As badly as I miss you two..." I drew out a sigh. "Spring break is only a month away, I'll try to make it until then."
"I'll make sure to take care of her until then," Quinn reassured with a smile, bouncing between all three of us.
"Yeah," Kimberly replied at the same time Raven said, "Mhm, I'm sure you will." The sarcasm in her voice was more than evident.
Raven didn't like Quinn, simply because she made some comments about Levi. Quinn apparently had a crush on him, as well as Luke and Kade for the longest time. And, not just a regular crush, but weird, slightly stalker level. She had only been a school over, so I guessed she caught sight of them at parties.
Quinn used to bring it up every chance she got. She was never direct with it, instead she made snide comments whenever Raven brought Levi up. Kimberly didn't let her bother that much since she knew she had Kade on lock and key, no questions asked. I didn't expect it out of her but the moment she heard Quinn bring up Kade the first time, she shut her down. The girl was feisty when it came to people she loved, I knew that without a doubt.
