I see some of you rereading IASWAD & IASWH & it's literally the sweetest thing ever to me! 😭 Thank you!❤️
ALSO a minor, not too minor update : I changed Levi's description in both IASWAD & IASWH from blonde hair, blue eyes, to dark brown hair, and green eyes! I feel as if that fits him better for some reason, lol. Raven, I switched to red hair, and hazel eyes!
"I fell in love with her courage, her sincerity, and her flaming self respect. And it's these things I'd believe in, even if the whole world indulged in wild suspicions that she wasn't all she should be. I love her and it is the beginning of everything." – F. Scott Fitzgerald (love this full quote❤️.)
————————————————————Chapter 67
<—————————————>Maggie
I sent a quick smile to the doctors and nurses as I passed them. I heard some of them try to catch Luke's attention about his father, but he remained quiet, instead tightening his hand around mine and leading us through the busy hallway.
"Are you okay?" I heard him ask from my side.
"As okay as the last fifty times you've asked."
Luke ignored my comment, his eyes digging over my figure for any sign of detriment. "The answer could have changed between then and now." When I rolled my eyes, he frowned. "If you get tired or lightheaded, please tell me, okay? I'm not kidding, Maggie. If you even get the smallest headache, I want to know—"
Chuckling, I pulled him into the elevator with me. "I told you I'm fine. The doctors have checked me a million times over."
Luke leaned against the elevator wall with a turnt mouth, crossing his arms back at me. Concern etched over his face the longer he examined me over. Even though I didn't have a concussion from the wreck, I did end up having to get stitches from some of the shards of glass.
Pressing the button to my grandmother's floor, I said, "I promise I'll tell you if I think something's wrong or if I'm feeling weird." Attempting to hide a chuckle, I stretched a hand out for him, which he took in his. "I swear."
Luke nibbled on his cheek for a moment before nodding. Lifting my hand to his lips, my smile grew at the kiss he left to my palm, as well as the tingly skin left behind.
"Fine." Gently, he tugged me to him by that same hand, then locked his around my waist. "Thank you."
My smile softened at him before I shrugged. "You're not at all welcome."
Tipping his chin, a grin pulled at the corners of his lips. "Not even a little bit, huh?" I laughed at the use of my own words against me, retorting, "Absolutely not."
His hands squeezed at my waist until I thought it was perfectly molded just for his. I wouldn't doubt the claim if made.
His grin grew before he craned his neck to kiss my head. "We have to go and pick up your meds, but the pharmacy doesn't close until seven, so take all the time you need."
