"I swear I couldn't love you more than I do right now, and yet I know I will tomorrow." – Leo Christopher

The next morning, Luke held me tightly in his arms. I shifted to get a look at his face, hearing his voice hum my name in a melodic tone. His lips brushed my neck, electrifying my senses.
"Good morning, beautiful," he mumbled against me. I smiled and glanced over my shoulder, replying, "Good morning."
Pressing another kiss to my neck, he loosened his arms, but only to turn me around so that I was facing him. His fingers began to stroke at the skin on my stomach with love.
Concern drowned his eyes until they were full as he observed me over. "How are you feeling after last night, baby?"
"Nope." I smiled, softly. His touch sent shivers through me. I reached for his jaw. "You first, pretty boy. How was your mom?"
His mouth twitched with amusement at me. "Fine. I felt better seeing her for myself, and when the doctors told me they got her awake, too."
Relief washed over me as I stroked his jaw. "I'm so glad. Did you talk any?"
"We talked a bit, then ate dinner together. She told me happy birthday, gave me my card, and even had some gifts she had ordered for me a while back."
"A while back?"
"Mhm. My dad never let me spend my birthdays with her before, and I didn't even know until yesterday that this entire time, she's been sending my birthday and Christmas gifts to the mansion ever since I was a baby, but my dad never told me to make me think that no one got me anything. He's been hiding them from me this entire time."
Anger rushed into my system, quickly. "Are you fucking serious?" I shouldn't even be surprised, but fuck. I had never wanted to hit a motherfucker the way I wanted to hit Ryan Vaudest. "That son of a bitch."
Luke's head bobbed. "My mom figured it out after a while, and had been saving my gifts for me over the years, but could never get them to me, because of my dad. She told me where to find them last night, though. I did, and we opened some of them together. It was exciting, and they were all sweet as shit." A genuine, relieved smile came over his face that made my heart melt in return. That made me so happy to hear. "She asked about you, too, which didn't help me much, because I was already missing the fuck out of my girl, but she suggested you come and eat with us next time, too."
My heart softened at that; my answer was an automatic yes. "Of course I will." I kissed his cheek. "And, you better be showing me your presents the second we get home." I wanted to see them all, and I would sit there the entire time while he showed me. I knew how much it probably meant to him, and it made my soul warm to see him get it. "How are you feeling, though?"
