"I enjoy life when things are happening. I don't care if it's good things or bad things. That means you're alive." — Joan Rivers

Chapter 63

"Is he dead?" I questioned Raven, who remained as complacent as ever while Luke tried to drown Levi.
Raven pulled her sunglasses down the bridge of her nose to get a clear look, then waved it off. "He'll be fine."
Kimberly chuckled. "You're a little too calm about your boyfriend drowning, Raven."
"It's the insurance money," Jax called out as he passed us on his own floaty. Raven pointed at him, bumping her margarita against his. "A girl has to have her priorities."
My eyebrow rose at her. "You guys aren't even married, though."
"Mhm," she pondered, leaning back until the sunshine fully hit her face. "I'll figure that part out later." Kimberly, Jax, and I laughed at her.
Kimberly was facing me in her floaty, ankles crossed and glasses off. Her eyes were shut, fully embracing the beams of sunlight. Kade made his way to her side, a grin raising the moment he got to her, but I knew she wasn't aware of his plan.
Waves of water slapped against the back of my floaty, then. My smile raised at the buzz of my skin; I knew who it was, immediately.
Just as I went to turn, a strong grip closed around my wrist. I didn't have time to recover, before I was being yanked right off of my floaty.
I fell into the water with a gasp of surprise. Strong arms wrapped around my figure a moment later, lifting me back up with a chuckle to follow.
Luke dangled a sexy grin at me. "Hey, gorgeous."
I smacked his his chest with a huff. "I'm going to kill you," I hissed at him, despite how much it tickled my heart.
Our friends' laughters tossed through the air until I turned to glare at them. They continued on anyway, earning a scowl from me.
Kade sent a look to Kimberly, lifting her sunglasses from her face with his index finger, then turning her head to him. Her smile lit up the moment she saw him.
"Was that funny to you, sweetheart?" At her nod and laugh, his lips curled into a mischievous grin before he nodded, dropping a hand to her floaty. "Yeah?"
Kimberly's eyes went wide with panic. "Kade, don't you dare—" Kade tipped her floaty over, cutting her speech in half.
All of us laughed until she came up with her anger intact. Even pissed, she was adorable. Kade grinned back at her, tugging her to him until he could hug her.
