8. |Dreaming|

I was handed the title, I was finally handed the title.

Standing in the ring, holding the one thing you worked years for. Holding what you've given literally blood, sweat, and tears for is the greatest feeling in the world.

"Rose, you just won the Diva's Championship, how are you feeling right now?"

"How am I feeling? I feel like this little 7 year old girl from Florida is in a fairytale. I feel like I'll wake up any second, and this will all be a dream. But it's not. I did it. I gave 15 years of my life for this. Just for this moment, I sacrificed so many things, and now I've got what I've been working so hard for. Dreams do come true. Mine just did." I say, occasionally choking on my words.

"You've said back in NXT that if you win the title, you'll defend it like a true champion should. What does that mean?"

"What that means is that next week, or Thursday on Smackdown, I'll defend this title. I will defend this title every single week. I'll be a fighting champion just like I was in NXT. You can line up challenger after challenger, and I will take them down. Every Rose has its thorns, Cole." I smile.

"Thank you. Ladies and gentlemen, your new Diva's Champion, Rose!"

He gets out of the ring right as my music picks up.

I stood in the middle of the ring, and slowly hoisted the title high above my head.

This is my moment, and it was everything I dreamt it would be.

I made my way backstage to a sea of cheering Divas.

"Congratulations, girl!"Summer cheered, hugging me tightly.

"Thank you!" I smiled.

After hugging all the girls, and saying thank you, I needed to be alone.

I found an empty hall filled with carts, so I took a seat on one of those carts.

"I did it. I finally did it." I said, running my hand along the title.

You never really know what you'll do until it happens.

I always said I wouldn't cry, but in this very moment, that's all I wanted to do.

The hard work finally paid off, and I've accomplished what I've been dreaming of for years.

"There's my champion."

I looked up to see Roman.

"I did it." I say, eyes filling with tears.

"I saw. I'm so proud of you." He says, resting his forehead on mine.

"I thought I wasn't going to be able to finish with how bad my throat was burning, but I pushed through, and I made my dream become reality." I say, not taking my eyes off the belt in my lap.

"You put up one hell of a fight, baby girl." He tells me, rubbing small circles on my back.

"This still feels like a dream. I've pinched myself so many times already." I laughed, wiping away some stray tears.

"No need to pinch yourself now. You did it. You are the new Diva's Champion." He says, pointing to the title I just couldn't let go of.

I smiled, finally looking up at him.

"I couldn't have done this without you." I tell him.

"How so?" He asks, sitting beside me.

"You made me believe in myself when I thought I wasn't good enough." I say.

"You're an incredible athlete. This business loves you. I love you." He tells me, pulling me into his side.

"Thank you for not walking away like everyone else." I smile, resting my head on his shoulder.

"I hate to break up this love fest, but I'd like to speak with the champion, please." A British voice said.

I looked to my right to see Paige .

"I'll see you later." Roman says, kissing me on the cheek.

I nod as he walks away, leaving me with her.

"First off, I'd like to say congratulations. Second, you put up one hell of a fight for that championship. Third, if anyone could beat me for that, I'm honored to say it was you. Make a statement." She tells me, pulling me in for a hug.

"Thank you for giving me this opportunity." I tell her.

"Don't thank me. Thank yourself." She says.

"Why?" I ask.

"You gave everyone reason to give us a chance. We're not just pretty faces, anymore. That match made everyone believe that we deserve to be here just as much as the guys do. I can't wait to see what's next for us. You're an honor to work with, Rose." She smiles, walking away.

I smile, looking down at the title again.

I took a deep breath, and let it out slowly.

If you work hard enough, your dreams will come true. They may not just come to you in the blink of an eye, but they will come.

The longer they take, the sweeter the reward will be.

"This is one sweet reward." I smile, kissing the Diva's Championship. MY Diva's Championship.
