Simon waited impatiently while all the younster walked in to see if they could attract a Mystic. There were several of them, and less than half came out with one of the majestic animals. The chance of success was minimal.
Still, he had a premonition that it would go well, that he would attract a Mystic. It was a gut feeling that wouldn't go away. A good sign.
When Mr. Brock called his name, it almost had gone away, but the confidence hadn't. He would succeed.
He looked up at the audience, looked for Aline. Now she sat on Dad's knee and looked with big eyes as he walked the middle aisle and forward to the closed door that led to the enclosure.
Simon looked at the big screens that showed his every step. Soon it would turn off. It needed to be a surprise if he succeeded or not, the audience had to wait while he was in there.
The big gate opened in front of him and he walked in.
