Miyo wakes up to something shaking his arm; grumbling for being woken, he turns over to go back to sleep, only to be knocked out of bed. Huffing, Miyo gets up from the floor and glares at the small ghost floating above his pillow; it looks like it's laughing at him, meanie. He just wanted to sleep!
Miyo stands up, fully awake now thanks to someone. He puts on some clothes, a light blue t-shirt, a dark blue pair of shorts, white socks, and his white shoes. Once he finishes getting dressed, Miyo motions for the ghost to follow him out to the kitchen so they can have breakfast. Now realising he can't keep calling him 'Ghost', Miyo needed to give him a name. Maybe Ao? Miyo nods to himself; Ao it is!
Entering the room, Miyo notices that his father's seat at the table is unoccupied and his mother is already seated with a cup of tea in her hand and a bowl set out beside her; it must be for his cereal, which is out on the table, as well as the milk.
'Father must have gone to work early this morning; nothing new with that.' He thinks to himself. Climbing onto the chair beside his mother, Miyo pours some cereal and milk into the bowl and then begins eating quietly.
After ten minutes, he finishes his breakfast and places the bowl and spoon into the sink, then runs off to the bathroom to brush his teeth so his mother can bring him to school. Once cleaned, Miyo goes to pick up his school bag and meets his mother at the front door. Holding her hand, they leave for school.
They arrive quickly enough, seeing that the school is just a walk down the road from their home. Hugging his mother goodbye, Miyo heads into the building towards his classroom and sits down at his desk without any classmates noticing, nervously fidgeting in his seat. Miyo decides to take out his notebook and pencil case, bending over his bag, opening the zip. His eyes widen. Ao was hiding inside his bag; the small ghost looks up and bops his head against Miyo's hand. Stiffened in shock, Miyo doesn't notice the teacher entering the classroom until she calls his name.
"Alright everyone, sit and settle down, please. I have some news: Takei has finally received his quirk! Takei, would you come up here, please?" Ms Sasaki announced.
Slowly he stands up from his chair and makes his way up to the front of the classroom, little Ao snuggling into Miyo's arms as if trying to hide from his classmates curious stares.
"Now, Takei! Do you mind showing the class your quirk? I can explain what it does." Ms Sasaki asks Miyo; he nods his head, if a bit reluctant, and Ao floats beside him, waving slightly as if to say hello. Some classmates make some 'awws', and Ao hides behind Miyo; Ms Sasaki picks up a sheet of paper off her desk and clears her throat.
"Takei Miyo's quirk is called Will o' the Wisp. He can create small, blue, ghost-like spirits that float in the air around him. He can send these ghosts towards people/objects they can see, causing the ghosts to enter and possess them. The target is then placed under Takei-kun's control. People possessed by these lights have their hair and eyes glow blue." Ms Sasaki explained to the class, who were now looking at Miyo warily.
Ms Sasaki then said, "Do any of you have questions for Takei?" Almost half the class raised their hands, jumping up and down in their chairs. Miyo hugged Ao tightly, nervous as to what his classmates might say about him or his quirk.
Ms Sasaki started to point at people, and they said their questions.
"Can you make more than one ghost?"
"Isn't that a bad guy's power?"
"It can't hurt us, right?"
"Can you talk to it?"
"You aren't going to possess us, are you?"
"It sounds like a villain's quirk!"
"Are you a villain?"
