First Glance [Minsung]

Chapter 12

"I messed up." Hyunjin says after going radio silent for a while.

Jeongin sighs then softly massages his temples. "How?"

"I should have kept my mouth shut—no I shouldn't have confessed in the first place."

"That's not answering my question."

A defeated groan slips Hyunjin's mouth before he eventually unravels what exactly happened the day prior.

"So you'll just follow me around?! Not gonna ask me questions whatsoever?!"

Seungmin shrugs. "You decide."

The exasperation Felix feels slowly dissolves thanks to Seungmin's calm demeanor. He's certainly that type of friend who knows how to act no matter the situation he's in. Reflecting on his action, he feels stupid for unnecessarily snapping at him earlier. "I hate Hyunjin for what he did." He eventually says after two whole minutes of silence.

"What did he do?"

"Confess."

Seungmin hums. He probably knows what's going on inside the slightly older male's head, yet he still asks the question anyway. "Why do you hate him for confessing?"

"Because Sungie likes him."

Another hum. "So you put yourself in Jisung's shoes. But not in Hyunjin's?"

"Because he's known all along!" Felix unintentionally yells. "He knows about Jisung liking him all this time! But now that he's closed with that senior, he uses this as a chance to confess to me?! That's fucked up!"

Seungmin waits for his best friend to calm down before responding. There's a chance for him to unintentionally snap again after all. And if he did, he'd be regretting the action to the point he would bury himself under his plushies and refuse to go anywhere since he'd hurt the ones closest to him.

"I'm sorry." Felix mumbles. Lips already wobble.

"It's okay. I understand." Seungmin moves closer and drapes his right arm over Felix's shoulder, giving it a light squeeze. "I'm not trying to side with anyone here, but it's not like you can choose who you like, Lix."

Felix opens his mouth only for it to be closed again seconds later.

"Maybe that's not what he meant; or indeed, he was just being selfish, just like you said. But I bet you just stormed off without giving him a chance to explain, no?"

Slumping his shoulders, Felix nods defeatedly.

"Give yourself some time to cool your head. But make sure to talk things out, too. Hyunjin has always been sincere and kind, don't forget that."

Felix hums. "Okay."

"Need my help to tell him that you need time?"

"Yeah. I think that's for the best." Felix then looks to his side, offering a small smile. "Thank you."

Chuckling, Seungmin says, "you know those wise words aren't free right?"

Felix gasps in disbelief. "You assh!"
