First Glance [Minsung]

Chapter 15

"You won't go to the cafeteria?" Chan asks, curious.

"No. You guys go." Minho answers, trying to look nonchalant, but Chan catches it; the hint of sorrow in his tone.

Chan knows when not to push Minho. So when Changbin is about to argue, he drags the latter to the cafeteria.

Jisung cannot help but scan the entire place when he doesn't see Minho along with his friends. "Is he mad?"  He shakes at the thought. Even though he hasn't known Minho for that long, something convinces him that it isn't the case.

"One at a time." Seungmin nudges him, as if reminding him that it is okay to take some time; if they are really meant to be, universe will find a way eventually. Besides, he was the one who stated he didn't want to make Minho as a rebound. So until he's 100% sure of what he feels, he needs to be patient.

Looking down at his food, he takes a spoon of bulgogi, followed by kimchi on top of the warm rice. Their table is unusually quiet, but the tension between Hyunjin and Felix isn't too overwhelming at the least.

"Hey, Sung."

Jisung catches Felix's flinch upon hearing the voice.

"Can we talk?"

Offering a small smile, he responds, "Yeah sure."

Seungmin and Felix go to the opposite direction, seemingly have already had a plan; while Hyunjin and Jisung walk side by side to the direction of basketball court. Upon seeing the two, Jeongin announces he needs to go somewhere first, but they know it is just a lame excuse to leave them alone.

The court. Jisung expects it to be empty. After all, the school bell just rang not even ten minutes ago. But of course universe must disagree.

There, right in the center of the court, is Lee Minho.

"Sorry. It looks like you need to wait for me- or- or you can go home and I'll call-"

Jisung giggles at the rambling. "It's okay. I'll be alone either way." Yet, he wonders if that is the real and sole reason why.

Before Hyunjin can refute, he walks toward the spectator seats. The weight on Jisung's shoulder  as the two are heading to their usual spot doesn't make his heart jump; doesn't make him feel as ecstatic as it used to. And even when Hyunjin gives him a heartfelt smile at his decision to stay, his mind—and might as well his heart—seemingly have decided its own magnetic pull.

That certain someone, however, reads the actions shown by Jisung not in the way he intends it to be.
