The Eons Book Two-Chapter 4:
Falcon's POV
I tried to pretend that my life went on like normal without Ari but I never felt like I fit in without him before. I felt the attraction I had for him since the day I met him. Clearly he had moved on so I put on a fake hatred and went on with my life. The next weekend I spent my Saturday flying through the forest hating myself for loving Ari. I returned to the house in time for dinner. Sneaking up the backstairs I over heard Ari and Charlotte arguing.
“C’mon baby. I love you. We can be together,” Charlotte purred.
“Shut up. I don’t even really love you. Get out of my sight you mental transvestite,” Ari screamed at her/him.
“I am not a tranny! Who could you possibly love besides me?” the hurt in her/his voice was audible.
“That’s debatable. All you are is a whore. And I love Falcon. I made some stupid decisions and ruined that but I don’t need your gay sex to fix it,” Ari screamed as his door slammed and I jumped into the bathroom across the hall. I heard Charlotte march downstairs, crying louder than was necessary. I tried to quietly sneak into my room and just forget but every love song that comes on makes me remember. I heard a knock on my door so I knew it wasn’t Ash or Ari.
“Come in,” I called. Charlotte walked in, her eyes puffy and red. She’d been crying. “Is there something I can do for you?” I asked as she sat on my bed by me.
“I want to be part of the ritual. I want to help you get Vlad back,” she said slowly turning to me. I felt for her. I wanted help and I finally got it from the least likely of places.
“Okay,” I said showing her my MacBook. “I have been researching for a while about the Horror’s and typical rituals. It looks like the closest opening to the Pit from here is the Northwest Territories.”
“How are we even going to get there?” She asked.
“Bane has a car. We can ask her. I’m not entirely sure how she will react to me going on this crazy journey to get Vlad back. Actually I’m not really sure how I feel about it. But this is so much easier than asking Ash for his car,” I said placing the laptop between us on the bed.
“Okay, let’s go.” We stood up and walked down the hall to Bane’s room. I knocked 3 times and then walked in. Bane and Calypso were sitting on her bed painting their nails when we walked in. “Hey Bane we have a question.”
“Yeah. Wait why is Charlotte here?” Bane finally looked up from her neon pink nails.
“Well, we sorta need you to drive us back to the Northwest Territories to complete the ritual and get Vlad back. And Charlotte offered her soul. So what do you say, are you up for a road trip?” I asked. Bane looked like she was contemplating how much trouble they would get in if they snuck out without telling anyone. Ash would probably shoot them. “C’mon Bane, what’s life without a little fun, a little risk?” I was trying desperately to convince her to drive us.
“Fine whatever. Just be ready at midnight tomorrow,” Bane said rolling her eyes at me. We left the two of them and I went to pack my bags, just because I knew I probably wouldn’t do it later. Ari walked into my room and just stood there.
“Hey,” I said throwing a t-shirt in my bag.
“I just wanted to say that I am sorry for hitting you when you told me about Charlotte the first time. I just let my emotions get the best of me,” he said from behind me.
“It’s fine. I shouldn’t have let my jealousy motivate my actions. It’s my fault too,” I turned to face him. If this had been two years ago I would have kissed him. Now that didn’t seem like a possibility. “I was just packing my bags, so if that’s all you needed, I guess I will finish up with that.” He turned and left the room silently. I was thankful he didn’t question me about where I was going. I opened up my laptop and played some Bowling For Soup. We ate dinner around 6. The vegetable soup was warm in the cold Canadian winter. I went to sleep right after dinner. As I left I heard Ash ask Ari what was wrong with me. He was trying to see if Ari still cared. Ash knew what would be wrong with me if anything was wrong in the first place. I didn’t hang around long enough to hear Ari’s answer. I slept for half an hour but there was too much on my mind for me to really get any rest.
