Zelda cackles with glory.
Zelda:
HA, HA, HA, HA, HA! They've been hit. Now they have no defence! Continue the bombardment!
The Zeafs continue swarming, and the lasers from Mars keep shooting up towards space. The SS Centauri sweep towards the Terrahawks!
Mthrock:
Fire! Fire at will! Fire!
ZAM! ZAM! ZAM! BOOM! KABOOM! KAPOW!
It-Star:
My grand-mother, allow me to board a Zeaf and see that the Terrahawks are obliterated. To see them personally blow into space dust.
Zelda:
Certainly, my little one. Take Yung-Star, and make him see a little more sense for a change.
It-Star and Yung-Star fade away suddenly. More Zeafs continue to attack.
Hiro:
We've lost Mr. Bob. He's crashing onto the Martian surface.
Ninestein acts quickly.
Dr. Ninestein:
We won't last without their defence. Immediate retreat! I say again, immediate retreat!
Spacehawk takes a long time to turn about, but the Zeroids aboard the ship keep firing. The other Zeroids can't cope with the fighting against them.
Sergeant Major Zero:
You heard him, lads. Retreat! Retreat!
ZAM! ZAM! KABOOM! Zero and Zeroid 18 are blown away by the impact, sent hurtling into space.
Zeroid 35:
Serg! 18!
Zero and Zeroid 18 go hurtling into space.
Zeroid 99:
We must get out of here! Retreat! Retreat!
ZAM! ZAM! ZAM! ZAM! KABOOM! BANG! Treehawk spins back to Spacehawk.
Hawkeye:
Get us out of here!
The SS Centuari fires a laser beam, hitting the rear of the ship. BANG! BANG BOOM!
Kate Kestrel:
We've been hit, Tiger! Damage to the tail end of Treehawk.
Hawkeye:
We're trying to make it back.
A Zeaf zooms to the camera. It-Star pilots the ship, with the confused Yung-Star looking around him.
Yung-Star:
W-what's happening? Where are we?
It-Star:
Hang in there, my grandfather. And any minute now, the Terrahawks shall be dead.
As Treehawk tries to make it back to Spacehawk, the other Zeroids quickly retreat to the Terrahawks' ship. Zero and 18 continue hurtling through space, helpless to save themselves. Mr. Bob continues soaring down to Mars.
Mr. Brain:
Hold on!
The craft zooms over the surface of the planet. Treehawk struggles to return to Spacehawk as the massive ship slips away from the attack. The Zeroids continue shooting out. They hit the incoming Zeaf with It-Star and Yung-Star! BANG! BOOM! KABOOM!
Yung-Star:
Wah! We're out of control! We're going to crash!
It-Star:
Hold onto your turnip shaped head, my grandfather.
The ship hurtles away into the distance. Spacehawk quickly leaves and returns away. The SS Centauri stops pursuing them. The laser beams stop firing, and the Zeafs begin retreating. Mr. Bob continues soaring along the Martian surface.
Mr. Nerve:
Impact now ten seconds.
Mr. Relay:
We can't possibly make repairs of any kind. We're crippled!
Mr. Brain:
Brace ourselves.
Mr. Nerve:
Five seconds!
The men prepare for impact! The ship hits the Martian surface, knocking the men inside forward. The craft continues skidding along before reaching to the end of a hill, stopping just in time before it topples down. The men inside recover from the nasty attack.
Mr. Brain:
Ugh. Phew. Are we all ok?
Mr. Nerve:
Fine. I think.
Mr. Relay:
I wonder what the little people inside of us are feeling right now.
Mr. Nerve:
Bruised and shaken up.
Mr. Brain:
Let's do a rundown of the schematics. I want to know the cause of this. Every atom I want scanned and reported directly to me.
Mr. Nerve:
Systems operational. Assessing damage report now.
Mr. Relay:
I think we have something more concerning this to worry about first.
He looks forward at the main scanner with trepidation. The other men turn to look at what the scanner says.
Mr. Brain:
No.
Zelda's complex is directly in their view!
Mr. Nerve:
No power to reboot. No power to reconstruct. Nothing.
Mr. Relay:
What do we do now, sir?
Zelda's voice booms inside the ship. We will cut between the Martian base, the exterior of the ship, and the inside of the craft.
Zelda:
Welcome back, friends. It has been a while since we last encountered ourselves.
A yellow haze emits around the craft.
Mr. Brain:
What's this?
Mr. Nerve:
We can't identify it.
Zelda:
Now, you are just another inanimate object for me to control, at my will. You had your will. Now I shall have mine!
A flash bleeps on Mr. Relay's screen.
Mr. Relay:
We've given ourselves an open wound. Now the bacteria has come to sterilise it.
Mr. Brain:
You mean to say we're infected with a bug? A virus from beyond the external dimensions?
Zelda cackles as the yellow haze brightens around them...
