"HERE WE are, Aka-chin!"
Akari cautiously glanced around after she hopped down from Mikey's CB250T. It was already dark when they came to their destination where his gang's meeting will take place. Her forehead creased as she recognized her surroundings and brought her attention back to her blonde friend who just left his motorbike in the parking lot alongside Draken's, who already went ahead of them together with Takemichi, and hundreds of other bikes.
"Isn't this... the Musashi shrine?" she clarified to him. She remembered this was where the summer festival and other special occasions were oftentimes being held.
"Indeed, it is," Mikey answered casually the moment he approached her. "This is where we usually had our meetings. Basically, our main base of operations."
She nodded her head. "I see." She saw dozens of young men assembled around sporting the same black tokkō-fuku uniforms once they reached the top of the staircase. She was somewhat amazed by the large number of delinquents present at the gathering. "Whoa. There are so many of them."
Mikey grinned rather smugly. "Let's go to them, Aka-chin," he only said to her. "Ken-chin and Takemitchy should be here somewhere."
"Oh, right." She completely forgot about her cousin who was riding with Draken while they were on their way here. She lifted her pink hood and followed him closely from behind as they walked together toward his gang.
A handsome young teen with short lilac hair and droopy lavender eyes came to greet Mikey. "Yo, Mikey! Where have you been? It's rare for you to be this late. And Draken too."
"My bad, Mitsuya. Something came up."
"No, it's fine. You guys even brought Takemichi again with you. Hm?" The guy named Mitsuya looked past the blonde's shoulder and took notice of Akari's presence who was shyly peeking from his back. "Who's behind you?"
Mikey shot her a quick glance. "Oh, her? She's Akari. A close friend of mine and Takemitchy's cousin. I also invited her here."
"What? Takemichi's cousin?"
Akari stepped forward and made a small bow to the lilac teen. "M-my name's Hanagaki Akari! It's nice to meet you, um, Mitsuya-san!"
Mitsuya chuckled at her politeness. "You're just like your cousin. There's no need for honorifics. I'm Mitsuya Takashi. Second division captain and a friend of Mikey's." He flashed her a friendly smile as he introduced himself to her. "You're the third outsider our commander had brought here."
"The third?"
"It means you're 'special'," he stated in simple terms.
"Oh." She didn't know if she was supposed to be proud of that or not. The truth was Mikey 'forced' her to come here with him.
