"KUROKAWA IZANA is my boyfriend."
Everyone inside Mikey's room was in utter shock and couldn't believe the discovery as Akari told them about her relationship with Toman's current archenemy.
"Wait, really?" asked Emma who was the first to recover. "Then all this time, the one you are actually dating is our older brother?"
Akari nodded meekly at the blonde girl's query. "It's not like I'm hiding it from you guys or anything. You just never asked me about his name," she said frankly.
"True enough," Draken seconded. With a now more serious look, he was quick to add a stern clarification from the ravenette, "However, whether or not you are his girlfriend, all I want to know is are you an enemy, Akari?"
Akari cast a glance at the tall blonde, giving him a neutral expression. There was a rising tension between the two. "What do you think, Draken-kun?" she only shot back at his skepticism. "If I were an enemy as you ask, what will you do?"
"If you happened to be a potential threat to Toman, I won't stay lenient. I could care less of you being Takemitchy's cousin or Mikey's closest friend," he answered earnestly.
"Wait, Draken! Don't speak to Akari-chan like that!" Emma berated him with a frown as she tried to defend her friend.
On the other hand, Akari was quite impressed at his deep loyalty to their gang. She greatly reminded him of Izana's friend, Kakucho. She held the blonde girl's hand and wore a reassuring smile. "It's alright, Emma-chan. No need to defend me," she stated before shifting back to Draken. "Rest assured I'm not, Draken-kun. I'm not an enemy nor do I consider myself an ally. I sided with no one. Whatever Izana's doing with his gang is literally none of my business."
Draken was scrutinizing her to detect any lies in her words and seemed to be satisfied with her answer. He grinned. "That's what I want to hear from you."
Takemichi breathed a sigh of relief as the building tension finally broke down into smithereens. "But why Kurokawa Izana of all people, Akari? That guy's bad news. He's a very dangerous person. You should stay away from him. He's not good for you!"
Not good for me?
Akari felt remotely wounded at the hurtful words that came out of his mouth. Lowering her gaze to her lap with her bangs masking the look she had on her face, she poked him a brief question, "Do you love Hina-chan, Take-chan?"
"...what?"
She raised her head again and stared at the faux blonde stoically. She understood Takemichi was only concerned for her well-being. Yet, she still didn't like how her cousin could easily judge Izana based solely on his bad reputation as if he knew everything about the guy. "I asked if you love Hina-chan," she reiterated.
