"DADDY, DADDY! HIGHER! HIGHER!"
"Alright, baby! Up you go!"
"Hon, be gentle with our daughter!"
Kurokawa Akari was munching over a piece of her favorite taiyaki while sitting idly on a rickety bench in a playpark, the same place where she and Izana used to hang out years ago. Her blue eyes were gazing at the energetic cute little girl who was giggling mirthfully as the father pushed the swing for her. Meanwhile, the mother kept on telling her husband to be careful with their sweet child.
A bittersweet smile etched her pink lips as she quietly watched the loving family having fun in the park and felt a pang of jealousy crushing her already broken heart. She wished she could be in that woman's shoes even for just a day.
Once upon a time, Akari used to dream of having a happy family just like them. She wanted to become a mother. To bear a child of her own and spoil them with her love and affection.
Unfortunately, it was just wishful thinking. She had already given up on having such an impossible dream long after her husband ruined everything and made her suffer in great despair.
A single teardrop escaped from her eye.
Why did it have to turn out like this? Where did it all go wrong? She was almost there. She was so close to having what she always wanted. And yet, all her hopes and dreams shattered into millions of pieces in a blink of an eye.
Was this the price of loving a difficult man such as Kurokawa Izana?
The two of them were very much in love and happy in the first few years of being together as a married couple. He proposed to her when she turned 20 and they got married shortly after a couple of months with a grand wedding in its wake.
Izana oftentimes pampered her with flowers and expensive gifts to the point that he was spoiling her too much. He never failed to shower her with his affection every single day and they would still go on dates just like they usually do in their younger years. Izana would always make her feel special, even during their intimate moments.
They had such a perfect life as husband and wife and Akari couldn't ask for more of it.
However, not all couples ended up with a happily ever after.
What Akari thought would be their bundle of joy was taken away from her by force, making her resent her husband so much and for their marriage to start falling apart.
