—-Hello again, I promised a quick update and there it is! I wish y'all a late merry christmas and an early happy new year. I loved to write this chapter and I hope you'll love reading it as much! Enjoy your reading !!

For once, I was actually lucky, because as soon as I got to the bus stop the bus arrived, and to my surprise, it was completely empty. Hence I was able to sit alone, in my favourite spot, next to the window. I settled my bag on the seat next to me and put my earphones on straight away, listening to my usual playlist and looking out the window.

The ride back home was peaceful, and being alone in the bus only made it even more pleasant. When I got out of the bus, I started walking to my apartment. I knew I needed to study for a biology test I had the next day but at that moment I was at peace and I wanted that moment to last as long as it could so I took my sweet time during my walk back home, even if that was only 5 minutes.

Getting inside my building, I checked my mailbox and saw I had some letters there since I haven't checked it in a while. I grabbed them and got in the lift tearing the tops of the letter and reading through them. They were bills, my monthly bills to be more precise, nothing out of the ordinary and I still had time to take care of that matter.

I certainly am not an organised person, but if there is one thing I was really serious about, it was my papers and bills. I have a folder in which they're all neatly organised and classified. I surely didn't need to miss payment dates and therefore have problems I could have avoided. Until now, this method has been flawless so I intend on keeping it that way.

The lift got to the second floor, my floor and the doors dinged open. I stepped out and fumbled in my bag to get my keys before opening the door and stepping into my apartment before closing the door behind me. I let my bag down and left my shoes next to the door before getting to my living room where I put the letters on the table. "Butler I'm home !" I shouted while putting my hair into a messy bun.

Have I said I have a cat ? Yeah, Butler is my cat, a beautiful Maine coon I adopted when I got into this apartment. I've always lived with animals, so when I moved out to get into this apartment, the idea of living alone without animals just didn't sit right.

However, getting a dog was off the table, because my schedule wouldn't allow me enough time to take care of it, that's why I decided to get a cat. When the decision was made, I visited the different shelters around the city and I met Butler.

At that time he was already a grown cat of 4 years old who was found in the street with evident signs of abuse all over his body. The worker there had shown me pictures of him from when he was found and he really was in a bad shape, hair missing at certain spots because he had been burnt, skinny and with a broken paw. It just fed my hatred against humanity all the more, humans really didn't deserve animals.

This led him to have trust issues and to be very weary of people. And that instantly rang a bell, a broken cat for a broken girl, I guess we found each other at the right time. I went to meet him in his cage and, as if he knew I was safe, he sniffed my hand and stayed close to me asking for pets in front of the flabbergasted staff. Apparently I was the first person he let approach him ever since he got in that shelter. That little information had been what made me take my final decision. I filled out the adoption papers and brought him home on that very same day.

And after warming up to each other as well as to our new apartment, we grew inseparable and he was actually a very cuddly cat who was very loving and who loved to stay close to me at all times.

Usually he would be waiting and meowing at the door even before I unlocked it so having to call him was a bit odd. I just assumed he was taking a nap so I went to my room which was his favourite place to sleep to search for him.
