—-Heyy! Back again with a new chapter! I hope you'll like it !! —-

Despite my doubts from the past day I still woke up and decided to go to the event, because Harper had registered with me to not leave me alone, and I wasn't about to leave her hanging. I would go and spend the time with her, not giving Downey attention, because I was still upset about the asshole move he had pulled.

This must have shown on my face because almost as soon as I got inside "Still mad then?" I heard Harper state even before saying hi. I groaned "Yep, not gonna talk to him" I replied, to which she raised a brow, clearly not buying it and I rolled my eyes "I won't" I said more firmly.

We waited in the entrance hall as the students gathered, Mrs Crowley was already there and talking to some of them, no devil in sight for now. It unfortunately didn't last long, as he walked in with his usual smile that would normally make me fold in seconds, but this time it didn't.

He clapped his hands to grab our attention and everyone gathered closer, looking at him. I didn't, I decidedly looked at Mrs Crowley, ignoring him, clearly just in spite. Childish behaviour I know, but if HE, the allegedly old man got to act that way, I wouldn't hesitate to reciprocate. I might have been looking elsewhere, but that didn't stop me from feeling his eyes on me, literally burning holes into my body, still I stubbornly refused to meet his eyes.

What I forgot was that if I had my fair share of stubbornness, he did too, perhaps even more if that was possible. So when the insistent look didn't work he took his attempts a step further "Ivy already went to the museum so she knows some of the art pieces, she will be able to help you if you have any problem, I have no doubt on that."

At the mention of my name, my head snapped toward him as a reflex and I finally met his eyes. Huge mistake clearly. Ignoring him when looking at a wall was pretty easy, but staying mad when his eyes were pleading me not to was a whole other story. The man knew me too well and I didn't have any doubt that with my change of behaviour and his acts of the day before, it didn't take him long to put two and two together and to understand he messed up.

A sweet smile and an understanding gaze as an apology and I was done for, admitting defeat for today. He saw it and his smile broadened "Alright, today's exposition is a special one, indeed it's an ephemeral exposition that will stay at the museum for a few months only. I think everyone who registered is already here so We're gonna go but first we're gonna go upstairs so you can leave your bags in my room." he said as he started leading the way.

Everyone followed him and Harper elbowed me in the side "Seriously??" she looked at me incredulously "Your normal upset can literally last for days and even more, and it just lasted like what ? 2 minutes ?!?"

I groaned, partly because of the hit and partly because even I was annoyed at how quickly I folded "I don't like it anymore than you do" I said as I climbed the stairs limping a tad more than the previous day. We then put our bags in the room Downey opened and I got out a bit before Harper, enough for him to slide in next to me. "Gonna be alright?" he said nodding at my knee subtly and I nodded "Oh yeah I'll be fine"

He nodded "Do you feel it hurts more when you walk?" he asked and I nodded "Yep" I said matter of factly and he sighed "No I know you feel it but uh ... Well you got me ?" I chuckled upon seeing him stumble upon his words and finally put him out of his misery by agreeing "Yeah yeah I know, and I believe running with a splint isn't the best way to heal so, I'm not really helping my case"

"Ah yes you don't choose the best moment" he said and I only nodded as we walked to the museum. We walked side by side for a bit but I then regained my place next to Harper and let him go in the front to lead the group.
