—-Heyy, wow I think I never actually updated that story that fast, but I've regained the motivation to write so might as well take advantage of it. Just a little warning on that chapter, this might be a bit triggering on the subject of self harm. Take care, and enjoy the reading! —-

Getting home, I decided that I'd leave work for later as I needed to relax a bit. I got my phone out of my pocket and put it on the counter as soon as I got inside my flat, a notification catching my attention because the name Robert was indicated.

It was a message from the morning, I hadn't seen it because I didn't check my phone all day, not even once.

'Where are you?'

I smiled seeing the time of the message, 15 minutes before the event, and he was already worried that I wasn't there... Coming from a man who was always late, it was kinda funny. Although, I assumed it was due to the headmaster's presence, indeed, he always was a bit jumpy around her, probably because he wasn't used to not being the one in charge in a room.

Even if thinking about him was tempting, I shook my head to get these images out of my head. I still didn't know how that end of the year was gonna go, and I didn't want to dwell on it. Instead, I finished planning the details of my meeting with my cousin for the next day and decided to call it a day.

We met the next day, in the city around 1 pm to eat together and catched up, mainly on her life for the first bit. She told me about her relationship that was a dream, how happy she was and how glad she was to be with him.

In the past, this type of conversation would have left a bitter taste on my tongue. Not because I wasn't happy for her or because I was jealous, but more because I saw how easy a relationship should be at our age, and how messed up mine was. But with time, I learnt to completely let those feelings aside and I was really happy for her. I had even met her boyfriend and he was really a good guy. I was glad to welcome him to the family.

Two hours of chatter later, we decided to leave the fast food we were in and to move to a bar where we could get drinks. We ended up in a cute and calm bar where we both ordered a glass of white wine (my guilty pleasure) and the subject slowly turned to me "So... anything to tell me?" she prompted and and I smiled, taking a drag of her cigarette "Want to start off with the parents or the teacher I'm flirting with?" I said bluntly.

Her eyebrows shot up so high that they could have reached her hairline "What?? Wait! No, okay, start with the parents"

I nodded "Same old, I think they are both competing to know which one of them will manage to get me to throw myself off a bridge first" I sighed "Still comparing me to the sister, because you know how she just brings back all the best grades, way better than me. Of course, her being 6 years younger absolutely doesn't count." I said, this time getting bitter. I could have cried, but it had been so long, it became normal. All that was left was anger.

She sighed "I don't understand why they do that..." she admitted and I shrugged sipping my wine "If you understand one day, don't hesitate to keep me in the loop" I joked to hide the bitterness and she nodded "Yes I will, but hey let's let them behind, they're not worth it. We should move onto the main subject here. A teacher ??"

I laughed, because honestly, I didn't think she'd last that long before prying. I explained to her everything that has been going on for the last months. It took a bit of memory play to recall the little moments, but I was glad to have an external point of view. Maybe she was gonna tell me I had dreamt and imagined the dubious behaviour all along. Maybe it would be for the best.
