—-Heyy!! Yes I know, it's been a while, way too long even, before I last updated, but I didn't get much time to write lately and I didn't want to write something that wouldn't satisfy me completely... But to apologise, I actually wrote a longer chapter than usual (more precisely the double of the usual ones) and I hope it'll be enough for you to forgive me for the slow update... Anyway, enjoy your reading!!! —-
After these more than confusing events, I had a couple of days before actually seeing Downey again. So I tried to stop overthinking, I couldn't figure it out without seeing him again, so I might as well focus on other things.
Like my hair, I know, might not be the most important at the moment but I had been wanting to change it for a while and I just finally managed to book an appointment with my hairdresser. It wasn't a huge change as I only got it dyed a bit lighter than it was and cut a tad, with curtain bangs, but it looked pretty good and I felt hot nonetheless. Truly, that's all that matters.
The same day, I got an email from Robert, telling me he hoped I was okay and that he finally found the test he was supposed to hand me over months ago. He apologised for only sending it now and precised he had put it as an attachment below before wishing me a good end of the day, to which I answered that it was okay, and asked if he could give me his personal email because the photo from the museum I was supposed to send him wouldn't send through the uni platform.
The next days were mostly spent resting and catching up on shows that I've put on hold in the last few months. It really took me only a couple of days to mess up my sleep schedule even more than it already was. And that's how I ended up still being on my phone at 5AM.
The hours passed and I wasn't growing tired, so as It got close to 7AM, I decided to get up and get something to eat, hoping it'd tire me a bit. Only as I made my way to the kitchen, I stumbled upon a limping Butler. As he saw me, he started meowing and I frowned. Butler always had some knee problems and he tended to limp from time to times when he made a bad jump and landed improperly. That's why I didn't worry too much at first, but when I crouched down and tried to touch his paw to stretch it out as I usually do, he retrieved it as much as he could and practically hissed at me. That's actually when I started to worry. Butler always has been a sweetheart with me so if it got to the point of him hissing at him, it had to be quite serious. I managed to carry him over to the bed after quite a bit of struggle and that was only after he understood I wouldn't touch his paw.
My first thought was of course to bring him to the vet, but unfortunately the clinic wouldn't open for at least an hour and a half so I'd have to wait and try to stop Butler from moving so he wouldn't hurt himself more than he already was.
After a while of me cuddling him I actually managed to finally try to touch his paw, and what I felt only alarmed me more than I already was. His paw was limp, as if it wasn't even attached to his body, I knew it wasn't broken because I could feel that his bone was right, but I was scared that he might have dislocated his knee and this definitely wasn't good, because one, it hurt like hell, and second, if it wasn't fixed soon it might create bigger problems.
With that new doubt in mind, I rethought my decision of waiting for the vet to open to call and take an appointment and decided to go there directly so I'd be there when the doctor would arrive. I knew that Dr Marshall was taking the first shift and I was sure she'd take me in quickly.
My assumptions proved themselves to be right because I didn't even need to say a word for her to let me in as soon as she saw the look on my face "What's wrong?" she asked while she was getting ready and I put Butler on the examination table explaining to her what happened with the little details I had myself.
