The kids happily sat with the old mad, who was more than willing to close up his resteraunt for the afternoon.
"Order up!" The man jokes as he brought 3 bowls of Udon to the table.
"It looks good, as usual." Hana commented, not wasting anytime.
"Thankyou for the meal!" The three chimed.
"Mr Shota." Ni-ki spoke up after finishing his meal. "Can you tell us about how you met your wife?"
Mr Shota looked down at his hand nostalgically, where he wore two leather bracelets.
"My wife and I met when we were in highschool. We absolutely hated eachother. Ayana and I were always competing for the highest marks in every subject. Somehow, we always managed to tie for first place."
"Hana could never." Ni-ki interrupted. "She's too smart, no one could ever come close to beating her." Leaving Hana blushing at the sudden compliment.
Me Shota chuckled and went back to his story. "In our third year, Ayana found me when I was at my lowest point. It was a terrible time. Ayana told me that she also felt the pressure from school and that it was getting too much. That year, we decided to take it easy and not determine our self worth based on grades."
"We slowly started falling from eachother in our third year, but I felt that it was too late to start a relationship, or to even confess. Highschool was almost over and I didn't know if I would see Ayana ever again."
"That's sad..." Hana commented
"It is, little one. But somehow, we ended up at the same university, away from the city. Instead of completing our four years however, Ayana and I decided to open this resteraunt. And after all these years, our resteraunt is still running!" Mr Shota smiled happily. "The 25 years I spent with Ayana were the best years of my life."
"Moral of the story is, if you're meant to be together, you will. The universe will take care of everything, so don't worry." Mr Shota sighed as he took of the two leather bracelets from his wrist and tied them onto Niki and Hana's hand
Ni-ki frowned. "Me Shota, this is too much. Are you sure you don't want to keep these?"
Mr Shota smiled at the children. "I'm sure. This is for you guys now. I want you to have it."
There was a knock on the door. It was a random civillian.
"Mr Shota? Are you closed for the evening?"
Hana and Ni-ki looked at eachother and giggled.
"You're in demand, Mr Shota! Ni-ki and I will leave now. Make sure you earn alot of money." Hana spoke as she hauled the other up to his feet.
"But what about the ice-cream?" The old man looked bewildered.
'Next time!" Bye!" Niki yelled as he left with Hana
-
"Today was fun. We should do it again" Niki said as he sat on Hana's floor.
They two had ended the night in Hana's room, drawing pictures together.
"Yeah, we should." Hana got onto her bed sleepily.
Ni-ki smiled at his best friend as he tidied up her desk, the one they had been using to draw on.
"You don't have to-" Hana protested before being shushed by the other.
Ni-ki walked over to Hana and gave her a hug. "You should sleep now. I'll see you tomorrow?"
Hana tiredly nod her head and bid Niki goodbye.
The boy walked out of her room, the happiest he had been in a while, holding a piece of paper in his hand.
