Calvin flashes a smug smile. "How's your dinner date with Bin?"

"Where did he take you?" Tasha follows through before popping a slice of perfectly cooked bacon in her mouth.

"How did you know about that?" I ask, bewildered because I did not mention it last night when Tasha called me, checking if I'm coming over to Sebastian's place.

Calvin laughs as if I'm asking something I'm completely aware of. "Well, to whom else?"

"Gwen was with us last night. Of course, she told u—uhm, wait, not us but rather Sebastian, that Bin Tan asked you out to dinner." Tasha explains.

"Hahaha! I can still remember how he reacted."

I shoot him daggers. "I've been noticing, you guys are having fun seeing us playing mind games."

Tasha nods. "Yeah, right. It's supposed to be played during high school and college years but you and Sebastian are doing it a little later."

"Tsk. Make sure to refill my stash of cured bacon or you're dead to me!" I complain, seeing a bowl that she cooked all for herself like it's popcorn.

Jeez!

CEO Park called me up late last night, probably after seeing Sebastian's name being dragged by the press and public again, he asked me to not come by the office tomorrow because he received a tip about media outlets planning to camp outside KE HQ to force Sebastian in releasing his official statement.

After our spontaneous dinner, Bin advised me to head out first because we might bump into a Paparazzi together and I have to be extra careful since my romantic involvement with Sebastian is getting out of hand.

Now, I'm stuck in my apartment on a weekday but I have incredible friends who barge in my place but this time, empty-handed. They should have brought at least coffee from Café Artisanal to make my veins at ease.

"Sebastian's eyes widened like saucers when he heard Bin Tan's name from Gwen. I was just fooling around with him on the group chat but I can't believe it manifested." Calvin says.

Tasha turns to him with a cutesy puppy-eye expression. "Can you also say I'm having a boyfriend this year? It might come to reality too. Please?"

"Hey! If I'm gonna end up being single in this lifetime, so are you."

Tasha hits his shoulder. "Yah! Take that back, you prick!"

Hay...

I lean the tip of my chin on my palm, looking at my best friends who are unproblematic and living their peaceful lives while here, in another mayhem.

"When will these issues stop, huh?" I murmur.

"Sebastian will release a statement by 3 p.m. today. When I left the office before lunch, there was still a lot of press waiting in front of the building."

"How did you know 'bout that? I kept on asking Gwen but she kept mum the whole morning." Tasha asks.

Calvin shrugs in triumph. "I asked CEO Park directly when I bumped into him."

"Psh. Is the statement coming straight from him or is it being crafted by the management?" I ask, even though I already know the answer.

"Have you talked to your best friend? Can he stop pretending and actually tell what he feels?" Tasha annoyingly protests.
