I see Sebastian's forehead slowly turn into a frown after reading the article and examining the photos on it—of me and Bin, laughing our asses off in a convenience store.

He draws a sharp breath. "I don't even know what to say anymore."

"You don't have to say anything to make me feel lighter because I'm alright. All the previous rumors I've been through have made me used to it by now."

Seriously though, seeing those malicious comments about me, as if they know the whole story and I owe them an explanation is not that upsetting anymore.

"Still,"

"Ssshhh!" I stop him by putting my index finger on his lips. "I don't like it when you're blaming yourself for placing me in this situation."

"Ash—"

"I mean, if being with you means I have to deal with all these public humiliations, I'd face it head-on," I add, cutting him off.

He grabs my hand and kisses the top of it. "I love you so much," He whispers. "I love you and at this moment, I feel like I can't imagine living an amazing life like this without you in it."

"I—"

I'm about to utter some cheesy lines in response—because there's no backing down if you're dating a very competitive person—when my phone vibrates again.

Gwen

She must have sensed that I'm done analyzing the write-up already.

"Hello?" I say as I answer the call.

"Have you seen it?"

"Yeah. I'm good!" I cheerfully pronounce. "What about you?"

"Well, I can manage."

I want to apologize for adding up to the burden that she's carrying when she should only be dealing with Sebastian's business.

"How's everything in the office?"

They must be having mayhem in KE HQ and CEO Park must be freaking out right now, thinking about the ways how to deal with this mess smoothly, especially now that it involves two of the major key players in his company that represent a completely different field.

"Gosh! I can't even explain it! I'm just grateful that you're both nowhere to be seen because reporters will probably flock outside Sebastian's apartment."

Right, it's their hobby—to intrude in someone else's place and personal life for their benefit.

"Don't worry, we won't go out."

"No! It's a secluded area so I think it's safe to go around. You have to enjoy your vacation, just be careful. It's rare for you to have your time together so leave all your worries away and I'll fix everything from here."

Oh, Gwen must be with Sebastian when he checked out this place because she's familiar with its location.

I chortle. "You're the best! What would we do without you, huh? Hahaha!"

I hear him laugh on the other line.

"It should be easy-peasy to deal with the press but Nami Chen just loves adding fire to the flame."

"What does that mean?" I quickly ask, interested as to what Nami has been scheming while we're away.

Although I'm already aware that it's making an awful situation even worse.

"A friend of mine in the newsroom said Nami's camp has been calling media outlets nationwide to provide supporting information about the timeline of his relationship with Sebastian. She sure got the nerve to mess with you, it's making me furious!"
