Valentina's pov
"Bitch guess what?" Gina asks as we sit down at our usual lunch table.
"Fernanda Garcia asked me out!" She continues excitedly, slightly squealing.
"No way. Who is that?" I asked confused. She gives me a "bitch really" look.
"She's the prettiest girl in this entire school, besides you of course. I've had a crush on her, since last year when I was on the cheerleading team. Also, she's best friends with Heaven."
Oh, so that's why she wanted Gina's number. Make sense!
"I'm happy for you! Wait she just asked you out like that? No flowers or anything?" I ask slightly upset.
"She just asked me if I'm available tomorrow. I said yes, and she asked me if I wanted to do something with her, so I said yes." Gina smiles, giving me half of her sandwich.
As I was about to say something, I saw Heaven and two girls walking towards our table with roses in their hands. I quickly turned my gaze to Gina, but she was looking at one of the girls; which I'm assuming is Fernanda.
Heaven hands a rose to Gina, as well as the girl after her and Fernanda. In an instant, Fernanda pulls out a poster board that was on her other hand on her back and faced it towards Gina.
I look at the poster board that read, "Will you go out on a date with me?"
Cute, but Miss Girl didn't have to go all out. Okay, I'm jealous why can't I have that!?
I'm so happy for Gina. I can tell by the giant grin on her face that she's happy and although I just met her a few weeks ago, she's already my best friend, and as long as she's happy, then I am too.
"Yes, I'll go out with you stupid." Gina rolls her eyes playfully and gets up from the table to hug Fernanda.
This is so cute that I legit want to cry. Why can't I have that? Is that too much to ask for?
Gina detaches herself from the hug and goes up to me and hugs me so tight, that I can barely breathe.
"G- Gina you can stop hugging me now." I stutter out, as she apologizes and jumps up and down in pure excitement.
"I'm so happy for you." I smile.
I am happy for her. I love to see my friends and family happy it just makes me happy.
"Thank you, Val, I appreciate it." She says with a grin, sitting back down on the table, me doing the same.
"Hey, can I ask you a question?" I ask, curiously how she met Fernanda. She never told me that part and I being curious, want to know how.
"Sure." She says closing her lunch box.
"How did you meet Fernanda?"
"We met when I was a cheerleader last year and she was too, but I quit," Gina says. The tone in her voice sounds like she's upset.
"Oh. You don't have to answer this, but why did you quit?" I ask. I wanted to know why. Not because I'm being nosy or whatever you call it, but I simply want to know everything about her now that she's my friend. I'm sure she would do the same thing to me in this situation.
"I couldn't stand Heaven. She treats us like complete shit just because she's the captain. It's been like that since freshman year, and I finally decided enough is enough, so I ended up quitting as well as half the squad."
"Right now, there's only about 10 girls on the squad. They need at least 11 or more to compete in the competition. You know that I saw some posters outside in the hallway for auditions to become a cheerleader?" Gina continues, rambling at this point.
