Chapter Eighteen (Violet's POV)

I gasped as he lifted me to his arms and brought me up to the top of the mountain. It was colder up here and I mentally applauded myself for putting on a hoodie this morning. The sun could be seen between the peaks of two mountains and a fine layer of fog covered each peak. As we entered the temple and he set me down, I looked around in awe. This was such a beautiful place and obviously meant a lot to the packs, I was honored he brought me here before my change. I glanced over at Azure and smiled before I found my way over to the kneeling pedestal where I kneeled down and brought my hands together with my eyes shut.

"Thank you for introducing me to this life and Azure, I pray I make you all proud, Amen," I stated before standing and grabbed Azure in a tight hug. "They aren't mad at you baby. Just remind them who you are," I whispered before passing a soft kiss on his hard lips.

Nodding subtlely into my kiss, he then approached the pedestal, a feeling foreboding rising in his chest. Swallowing it down, his knees fell into the soft cushion of the pedestal.

"I would first start with addressing the sin on my name. I ended the life of the man who brought me into this world, but if you must truly know my sin, you first have to know my tragedy... That 'beast'," venom spilled out in his words at the term. "Slaughtered our family because he allowed the wolf inside to eat him away from within, becoming no more than a wild animal himself. I... I-i avenged them! I am a wolf, who uses my strength and cunning to help those in need! I know some of you will hear me and for that alone I thank you. Amen." He state proudly as he rose to his feet, his shoulders visibly more relaxed.

A incinerating fire of long unused power tore through Azure's entire body as those words passed through his mind. Locking eyes with me, he mouthed a heartfelt thank you before shifting, immediately throwing his head back in a resounding howl as stars began to glint in the slowly darkening sky.

I watched as he knelt on the pedestal and said his prayers and instantly my affection grew for him in tenfold. My gray eyes held tears when he finally stood and I felt the pain lift off his soul. I took a step back as he transitioned and a gasp left my full lips as I hadn't seen him in his wolf form before. Beautiful pale fur erupted his body and the color of snow filled my vision as he took up a large portion of our surroundings. I stared for what felt like forever before I finally found my feet and made my way closer to the beautiful animal. I knelt in front of him slowly and his head lowered to touch mine and I giggled at the feeling of fur on my face.

"I love you Azure, I want to be with you and your kind for as long as I live," I whispered barely audible, I knew he would hear me regardless and I buried my blushing face deeper into his fur. I had never told another human being that I loved them, except for my mother. She was the last one to ever here those words from me and I expected never to love another. But as my eyes glued to this beautiful beast in front of me, I knew I was smitten.

As those words left my lips Azure transitioned back into his human form.

"I love you too, Violet, you're my absolute salvation. Even now thanks to you, I have a true purpose leading my life again!" He shouted, overcome by his raging love for the woman before him as he pulled me into his arms, kissing me with passion that shot adrenaline through every nerve ending. As we pulled apart, breathing heavily and slowly coming down from the high of lust, he looked to the entrance of the temple then back to me.

"W-would be faster if I ran and you r-rode." He stuttered out, nervously running his hand through his hair. Turning again, he knelt down so as to allow me easier access onto his back.
