Nyx sat in the grass by the stone hedges, playing with the grass that swayed in the cool summer breeze.
She hummed a soft tune under her breath as she tried to braid a few pieces of grass together.
She frowned as the braid frayed and she lifted her hand in the air, letting the breeze pull the braid into the air.
She watched the grass dance before falling to the ground close to her.
"What are you doing? Are you five?" A voice snickered and she looked up.
Abe and Hydrus stood above her, casting a shadow over her.
"Is that seriously your best roast?" She asked with a frown.
Abe chuckled before coughing as Hydrus casted him a mean look.
"Not a roast," he said slowly, "we're just trying to be nice and explain that you're acting like a five year old."
Nyx shrugged, leaning back on her hands, "I never asked for your opinion, so..."
Abe smiled and Hydrus shrugged, "bye Nyx Scamander."
"Bye Abe," she waved, smirking at Hydrus and refusing to say good bye to him.
She waved lazily, watching them both retreat back into the school with the rest of the students.
She looked over her shoulder, wondering where Calypso was.
"Nyx, there you are!" A bubbly voice yelled and she jumped slightly, turning her attention back to the school.
She laughed as she stood, seeing Calypso running over to her.
"I was waiting by the school for you! Dinner is about to start and so is the Sorting Ceremony!" Calypso smiled, grabbing Nyx's hands and pulling her towards the school.
"How did I miss you?" Nyx breathed as they slowed their pace and followed the crowds to the Great Hall.
"I saw you talking to Hydrus and didn't want to interrupt the flirt session," Calypso giggled, winking as they walked into the Great Hall.
Nyx shook her head, "that is not what was happening! He's back to his old cold self for some reason."
Calypso sighed sadly, "when did this change? Last thing you sent in your letters was about your almost kiss!"
Nyx gasped, trying to quiet her sister, "not everyone needs to know about my failed attempt of a relationship!"
Calypso laughed as they walked down the aisles to their tables.
Nyx was happy that they moved the houses around for the year. Gryffindor house was on the far left with Hufflepuff and Slytherin in the middle.
Nyx smiled as she took a seat, turning to face Calypso. Calypso sat beside Noah and Charlotte.
Students were still filing in and Nyx leaned back against the table, listening to Charlotte.
"Have you seen Hydrus recently!" She gushed, placing her hands on her cheeks.
Calypso looked at her in confusion, "no, why?" She lied, winking at Nyx.
Nyx rolled her eyes but turned her attention to Charlotte. Her cheeks were flushed and she giggled before answering.
"He was okay looking last year but this summer he must've hit the gym or something. He looks so hot now!"
Nyx coughed, looking at her incredulously.
