Back to Cia. . .

"Heads up!" Someone in the streets of Trost shouts excitedly, "The main unit of the scout regiment is back!"

"That's right commander Erwin!" Another person shouts out from the growing crowd, "Did you give those ugly bastards a thrashing?"

"Look," Armin says in awe as he points to a charcoal eyed man, "It's captain Levi."

"You know," I start, leaning over to Armin, "They say he like an entire brigade to himself."

"Tch," Levi mumbles quietly as he glances over to us, "Spare me, please."

I start to chuckle. His stoic face never breaks as he passes by the crowds on his horse. The green survey corps cape, hugs his shoulders tightly.

"Feel how excited everybody is?" Eren starts, "It's like the crowd just has a different energy now!" He looks to us with wide, excited eyes. Since I am behind some taller people, he grabs my hand, pulling me to the font of the crowd. He lets go of my hand as he turns back to the procession.

"Well, we are going on five years without incident," A girl with red hair says optimistically behind him, "Seems like a good Omen."

"Yeah," the boy behind her agrees, "And you should check out all of the cannon upgrades, the sight alone should be enough to scare them off."

"That's the truth," the girl agrees, giggling slightly. She turns towards him affectionately.

"Are you in denial because you're a couple? What's that all about?" Eren asks them in a jokingly mad way, as Armin tries to hold in his laughs.

"Woah, woah, woah," the girl says, turning away to cover her blushing cheeks, "It's not what it looks like!"

"Knock it off dude," the guys says jokingly, while covering his blushing face, "It's embarrassing."

I chuckle, while walking to the survey corps. I just stand there watching, as a soldier jumps down in front of me.

He turns around, fastening the equipment to his speckled horse. The green cloak shows the wings of freedom as it blows in the wind. His black hair is neatly cut and he is a stout figure. He turns fully around--Captain Levi-- I recognize him as. I'm certain I had seen him before now though.

I am an two inches taller than him. He slightly looks up into my eyes. Though he looks up to read my gaze, you can feel him looking down upon your very soul. An intimidating man.

His charcoal eyes have a facade of boredom, but I can see right through. A deep look of confusion, sadness and emptiness are traveling across his charcoal iris'.

"Kid," he whispers, looking around, hoping not to attract to much attention. The crowd is mostly focused on commander Erwin, who is at the front of the brigade. Few turn towards us in confusion, wondering what a captain is doing, talking to a cadet. "Your name."

"Cianna Zëll, sir." I say, saluting him strongly. His eyes grow wide in realization, as his position changes. His shoulders relax, but he still looks unnatural. He unnoticeably gasps.

"Zëll," he says cautiously as I nod. He shakes his head in disbelief as he brushes his hand through his hair, "Wow, a Zëll lived. I can't believe it."

"Your father was a great man, he was one of my best friends back in the day," He pauses, then speaks to me in a louder voice, but still respectable, "We wanted to join the military together, but, when he hit above ground, he met your mother, Julianna.

"Your mother, She was another good friend. She was my best friends fiancé," he continued lowly so that none would hear except me, "She-she was the reason your father didn't join the military-- I didn't mind of course, for I had an... Assignment that I had to take care of-- but it did change me."
