3rd person continued
Armin gets up after screaming for a few minutes. He stumbles, looking back to the bloodied pavement. When he looks back, one thing sticks out: his best friend's arm lying on the cobblestone streets. Tears fill his eyes as he remembers something.
"Cianna," he mumbles as he shoots his wires into the collapsed wall, landing on the large pile of debris. Falling to his knees as tears stream from his eyes, he searches through the rubble.
"P-please," he whispers as he lifts another piece off of the pile, "I-I can't lose you too."
Then he finds her. As he moves another piece out of the way, her peaceful face comes into view. He gasps, hurriedly moving the other pieces away from her body.
When she is uncovered, tears fall from his eyes. His heart is shattered; she was a second family member to him. He grabs her into his arms, holding her closely as he cries into her dusty shirt.
Her limp arms hang loosely to the side as her head is hanging down. Her eyes closed and lips slightly parted, she looks almost peaceful. As he is sobbing, he hears a strange sound.
Bump
Armin's eyes widen as he immediately places his ear over her heart. A faint, barely noticeable heartbeat can be heard. It's pulsing.
He tries to keep the limp body from falling as he puts his hand in front of her nose and mouth. Small breathes of air release from her slightly opened mouth. At that, he holds her at arms length and cries out in joy.
He quickly, but cautiously lifts her into his arms as her limp arms hang to the side. Blood is splatterd across her face, as cuts and bruises line her whole body.
"Okay," Armin mumbles as he adjusts the gear and keeps Cianna in his arms, "Let's see how this works out. I may not have been able to save Eren, but I can still save you."
He jumps from the building, using his ODM gear to arrive at the building that all of the other cadets where. The command building is overthrown by Titans, so everyone is in a roof far away.
He unsteadily lands, stumbling slightly as his feet touch the shingles of the roof. Everyone looks at Armin in shock; he is carrying a limp Cianna.
People rush over, Annie included. Annie urgently takes Cianna out of his hands, lying her into the shingles of the roof. Cianna'a head rolls to the side. Annie immediately got to work.
Armin walks away. He slumps against the back wall, away from the other cadets. Bringing his knees to his chest, he lowers his head as a tears stream from his eyes.
'Eren's dead,' Armin thought to himself, 'and Mikasa hasn't appeared yet. Cia's heart beat was so faint. I'm going to lose everyone!'
"She's waking up!" Someone yells as Cianna's breath increases. Her bright blue eyes unveil themselves once again and she sits up, gasping for air.
"Cianna," Annie says softy as she brings the coughing girl into her arms. Letting her go, Annie helps her stand to her two feet.
When she stands, everyone gets a clear view of the only other survivor of Squadron 34.
Annie's arm remains around Cianna's shoulders as she stumbles, almost falling. Finally, she softly pushes Annie's hands away, walking on her own and taking deep breathes. She takes the black hair tie from her brown hair, letting it cascade down her back. She shakes out the dust, combing though it and putting it up once more.
She slowly makes her way past the crying and panicked cadets. She makes her way to the back wall, slumping against it, next to Armin. She slowly slides against the wall, curling her knees into her chest, resting her head on them.
