Problematic kitten

Chapter 9

Usagi has finished her formula to new pills as well as blueprints to update her staff. She didn't want to get in similar situation like last night. She glance at clock and stretch her back. "I will update it tomorrow, now I need to head out." She say to the Kuro who has slept near her whole day. She smile gently to the kitten and put some cat food on bowl before going to change in her suit.

Usagi run through the roofs again, listening to the noises of the city. She slow down and soon sit down on edge of one roof to look down the streets. It is peaceful and she pull out the notepad where she has wrote down everything she found. She flip through it and put the pencil behind her ear. "I feel like I am missing something in this...." She mumble and rub her head through the hood and start to play with hood's cat ear while thinking. Then it hit her, she hasn't write down the seller. "Stupid, useless, idiot!" She curse under her breath and facepalm. "I forgot the most important part out." She sigh and close her eyes. She return mentally on the site she has seen and try to remember the seller.

Eventually name come to her mind and she snap her eyes open. "LOV, probably a short from something but I don't know what. Aargh, I am so useless." She groan in frustration, write down the initials. Then she hear loud bang that catch her attention. She quickly put the notepad in her pocket, stand up and rush toward the noise.

Usagi see how three men run out of convince store. She quickly look through the windows and sigh in relief when shopkeeper seem to already call the police and rush after robbers. She follow them until they disappear in alley, trying to get through it to get away. She land front of them with the help of her staff. "Where is the fire, fellows?" She purr and turn to look at them under her hood. "Is that Kitten, the Kitten?" One of them whisper. "Shut up." Leader, who he has asked, spat and turn to glare at her. 

"Get out of the way kid and you don't need to get hurt." Leader grunt and move the bag better over his shoulder. Usagi click her tongue and move to better stance while holding her staff. "Surrender now and you don't need to get hurt." She answer and flip her staff a little. "Scarry." He command and throw his bag to other man. "Time to teach this kid what it means to be a vigilante." He grunt and crack her knuckles. 

Usagi dodge first punch but got hit anyway. She stagger couple steps back and shake her head. Man smirk and flick his finger. New hit hit her chest and she has to stagger again. Other men laugh and she grunt. Man flick and this time she dodge instinctively. Trashcan behind her got knocked down. She glance at it with a frown and then realize it. He can make air bullets. She smirk a little. "Your aim isn't as good as it first seemed to be." She taunt the man. Man smirk darkly and flick two of his fingers. She managed to dodge the first but not the second, it knock air out of her lungs and she drop on one knee.

Men laugh. "Drop it kid, you did good. Not even all adults can stand after gotten hit by my bullet." Leader praise Usagi mockingly. She grit her teeth and jump to hit her staff toward the leader who try to lead others away from the alley. He has to jump back to not get hit. She immediately move to stand on their way again. "I'm not done." She hiss and turn her staff toward them. Men blink and leader start to laugh. "You got guts, I had to admit that." He smirk and roll his shoulders. "But that was just warming up."

Usagi didn't get close enough to hit the leader and got hit multiple times but everytime she stand up again and after 5 minutes she got the hang of how his bullets fly. She start to dodge more and move closer. She kick herself in fast attack, twist her staff to make it batons and hit the man's sides as hard as she can.

Man groan in pain and drop on his knees. Usagi pull immediately back and twirl to hit him on the side of his head. That knock him out. She turn toward other two just in time to see them leap in attack. She steel herself to dodge but had to dodge only one punch until something wrap around them. All of their eyes widen and she start to smirk. She would recognize that scarf anywhere. 

Men fly in air while figure jump down and make them to hit each others. Eraserhead raise his head and turn to look at Usagi through his goggles. "Eraserhead, sir. I could have managed them." She answer, trying to hide her excitement. He scoff and wrap the scarf around last man on ground. "Of course you would have Kitten." He grunt as answer. She snort a little to his grumpy answer but try to hide it with a cough. He glance at her. "You really should work on your long distance attacks, you shouldn't be fighting that close up." He tell her with his teacher voice.

Usagi raise an eyebrow under her hood, of course Eraserhead couldn't see it but seem to feel it anyway. "You are small and mostly weaker than these thugs. I doubt that it has been easy to explain those injuries to your family, even more for a girl." Her eyes widen in shock. He has figured it out? Of course he has. She sigh and rub her neck under her hood. "You realized that?" "It was quite obvious if you know what to look." 

She sigh again. "What else you expected you idiot." She mumble quietly under her breath to herself. He turn to look at her with risen eyebrow and raise his goggles to his head. "What was that?" She slam hand over her mouth for a moment until she shrug. "Nothing." He squint his eyes. "Oh, right. I almost forgot!" She yelp as soon as she remember and pull out her notepad from her pocket. He frown when she reach it to him. "I did some research, I know it isn't much but at least I hope it can be useful." She say unsure and lower her eyes when he didn't take it immediately. I knew it, don't bother real heroes with your stupid notes.
