Problematic kitten

Chapter 16

Usagi get ready for her nightly patrol once again. She has been worried whole evening about Mr Tanaka, Present Mic and Eraserhead. Are they okay? Did they catch the culprit? She sigh and rub her face. "I have to find and ask him." She murmur and feel how someone rub against her legs. She crouch down to pet Kuro. "I know. They are heroes and he is in good hands." Kuro purr and push against her hand as answer. She smile weakly before standing up. "Time to go and if I see him maybe I ask about it, not run to other direction like last week." She promise and jump out of her window.

Usagi has just catch some trigger dealers and drop them near police station with her notes when she feel the presence in roofs nearby. She look around and see Eraser sitting on edge of roof, couple buildings on her left. She stare at him for a moment until start to run toward him. He turn to look at her as soon as her feet hit the roof he is on. His eyes widen. "Kitten! You are alive?" She snort and give him quick smile while he stand up. "Of course I am. Why wouldn't I?" He sigh and rub his eyes. She frown worried, knowing about the dryness what comes with use of his quirk. Why haven't I made any teardrops to him? Idiot! She scold herself.

"Because last time we saw you got hit quite badly and no one hasn't seen even a shadow of you on whole week, problem child." Eraser say tiredly. Usagi blink in surprise when realization hit her. "You were... worried... about me?" She ask quite not believing it with tilted head. "Of course I was, we all are." He sigh. "All?" He drop his hand to look at her and sense her confusion as well as see her even more tilted head. Like confused kitten. "Yes, all. Salamander, Rock Lock, Elastic, other heroes and police officers you have worried." He answer with little scold in his voice.

Usagi flinch and drop her head. "I'm sorry, I didn't know." She mumble and start to play with hem of her sleeve. Eraser sigh again and pinch bridge of his nose. "What it is with you and that other problem child. Disappearing like that all the time." He grunt. She raise her head while frowning. But then she remember why she decided to approach him in first place. 

"Um.. Eraser?" He drop his hand to look at her again. "I heard about explosion this evening at cafe near UA. Are everyone okay? Did you catch the culprit?" His eyes widen slightly. "How you know about that or that I was there?" She pale a little and shrug. "I have my ways." He squint his eyes suspicious. She stiffen and get ready to run from him if he decide to catch her. "Two people got hurt. Other is in hospital but will have full recovery, other we don't know. She run from the scene before paramedics came or that Recovery Girl could have taken look at her injuries." "She was there too?" She ask playing surprised.

Eraser gave Usagi tired look, that she couldn't fool him with that. She smile sheepishly as answer and mumble apology. "As about culprit.... we didn't find him. He disappeared in black portal." She frown confused. "I haven't heard about teleportation quirk." "No one has. That is what I have been looking whole evening but nothing pop out. So, you need to careful. Don't stick your nose in this matter, you hear me? I have enough problems to try to track that other problem child down." She feel fear tingle down her spine. "Why you try to do that?" 

Eraser look at Usagi, like evaluating should he told her the reason. Whatever he saw, he decided to tell her. "Recovery Girl want to make her her apprentice in UA. She was impressed how well she made first-aid how she acted through whole incident" 

She freeze in shock. WHAT?! She want to scream it aloud, but knew that she couldn't. She managed to bite her tongue just in time to stop that. She take shaking breath and force her heart rate back normal. "She must have made quite impression then." She say indifferently. He frown a little, clearly suspicious. "Kitten?" "Hm?" She ask and turn his whole attention back to hero. "You should stop this." She stiffen for his serious tone and words and move her feet slightly better position to flee immediately if needed. "What?" She mumble quietly. "I think you know what I mean, problem child." She bite her lower lip for a moment before answering quietly. "I can't."

Eraser sigh and rub his face. "Why? You could become a hero with heroes and legal backup." Usagi shake her head and take a step back. "It is impossible." "No its not." "Yes it is." She answer with broken voice, turn around and start to run. "KITTEN!" He yell and she feel how he throw his capture weapon toward her. She dodge it and jump to next roof. She hear how he started to run too and suddenly her skin start to itch all over her body. She stumble a little from surprise but managed to stay on her feet. She glance at her hands and stumble again in shock. She force herself to ignore the scars that litter her hands and speed up.

Somehow Usagi managed to ran from Eraser once again. She pant heavily on dark alley and listen to her pursuer. He has lost her. She sigh in relief and slide to sit down. She raise her sleeves and stare at her healed skin. His erasure has vanished her healing quirk, making all the scars she should have come in view. She sneer. "I would look so hideous." She murmur to herself, pull the sleeves down and decide to head home. She didn't have the energy to save anyone this night or ran from another hero.
