Problematic kitten

Chapter 26

Usagi immediately take couple steps back when Aizawa grunt and double over in pain. She feel terrible of the fact that she caused the pain but know that it will help in the end. "Sho!" "Don't touch him. It will only cause more pain." She stop Yamada. He obey but clearly has to fight hard to not touch his partner. She glance at the heroes and sneak out of room. She know that what she is doing is dirty but it is her only change. She need to check on Kuro. She run out of hospital, somehow without being stopped.

Usagi ran all the way to the warehouse and drop inside as soon as possible. "Kuro!" She call the kitten worried and look around. Soon she hear some rustling and familiar black figure run to greet her. She sigh in relief and drop on her knees. She take the kitten in her arms and hug her gently. "Thank Gods you are alive and unharmed." She murmur to the cat and pet it. Now that worry about Kuro has disappeared her guilty rush in. She feel awful leaving Yamada and Aizawa like that. "They will be in so much trouble." She murmur and pinch bridge of her nose. She think of her possibilities and sigh. They already know her identity so vigilantism turn to be even more hard.

Usagi make a decision, stand up, put the Kuro in her hood again and quickly gather her things. She look at the equipment but decide to leave them behind. They are beyond repair already and she couldn't take them in prison or wherever they are going to put her. She put backpack on her back and climb out. She pet the cat quickly while looking at the city and start her journey back to hospital and for her punishment. 

Usagi run back to hospital and only slow down block before. She feel fear climb in and has to force herself to walk in hospital yard. She stop when she see some commotion inside and frown while moving on battle stance. "Villain?" She murmur and start to move closer. Then doors slide open and two figures run outside. She stop and look confused at panicking heroes that brake to stop as soon as they see her. 

"Usagi!" Aizawa and Yamada yell in unison and run to her after a moment. She hear how Kuro hiss behind her and press against her nape. "Where did you go?" "We were worried sick?" "Don't ever scare me like that again!" "What were you thinking?" Her head start to spin on bombard of questions and she raise her hand as a plead to shut up. For her surprise they stop but suddenly pull her in hug between them. "You can't leave like that." Aizawa murmur and she feel how Yamada tremble and glance at him. He cry. She frown even more confuse. Then Kuro growl warning the two to let her go. 

Heroes look at black kitten confuse. She scratch on their arms and they let go of Usagi. "Kuro! No!" She immediately scold the kitten but she continue to glare at the men. "Isn't that Kuro?" Aizawa ask while Yamada try to pull himself back together. She turn to look at them and nod. "I told you I won't leave her behind." He frown and grunt something. "Not that I would be disappointed or anything else but grateful but why you came back? Certainly not because you wanted." She start to pick her sleeves and lower her eyes. "You would have gotten in trouble if I didn't come back, haven't you?" She admit quietly.

Aizawa sigh and Yamada sound shocked. Usagi raise her eyes to look at them. "So, here I am. Ready to go in cell or anywhere you need to put me." She say and smile sadly. Heroes share a look and Aizawa move to crouch front of her, on her eye level. "You are ready to go anywhere?" She nod. "What about home, real home?" She frown and tilt her head confuse. "I don't have a home. Do you mean orphanage? Why would you put me there? Shouldn't I go to prison?" She ask confuse. He shake his head and pat her head couple times before resting his hand on the spot. " Technically you haven't done anything illegal and I would never put you in orphanage or in any system. Never. You are coming with me and Hizashi, to our home." He explain calmly.

Usagi has to play Aizawa's words in her head several times. He stay on his spot patiently while her mind process what he said. Kuro has moved to put her front paws on her shoulder and glare at the man but didn't try to get him away from her. "You wouldn't?" She whisper eventually. He shake his head. "Home? With you?" She whisper, still unbelieving it. He nod. Her breath hitch in her throat and she start to shake her head, eyes tightly shut. "But I only cause problems." "No you don't." "I'm such a burden." "No you aren't." "I'm worth-" He press his finger over her lips. She stop all movements.

"Usagi." Yamada's quiet plead make her open her eyes and look at them. Blond one has moved to stand next to other. "It is time to go home." She let out shaking breath and bite her lower lip to stop it from trembling. "You sure?" She whisper and their soft smiles make tears come in her eyes. "If we didn't want you there, we wouldn't invite you." Aizawa answer and Yamada nod while reaching his hand to her. 

Usagi has already refused his hand once and stare at it again, welcoming her again without hesitation. She raise her hand hesitantly, it tremble but she slowly move it in Yamada's and his wide grin make first tear slide on her cheek. Aizawa gently wipe it away and stand up. "Can Kuro come too?" She ask as soon as she remember the kitten on her shoulder. "Of course. We have plenty of room for her too." Aizawa answer. "Sho has always wanted a cat so she will fit in perfectly." Yamada say and wrap his fingers around her hand. She couldn't stop little, happy smile that come to her lips. "You heard that Kuro. We are going home." She say aloud and follow the men to car. Kuro start to purr and disappear in her hood again.
