Problematic kitten

Chapter 23

Usagi see red, her whole attention is on injured hero, hero who has hold her after she so miserably failed him, hero who have given her little praises here and there, hero who saved her long time ago and have got her back on different battles at near past. She clear her path to them in record time, completely ignoring the hits she got herself, she didn't even feel them. She force her legs to move faster, put her batons together and use staff as last push to get enough speed to kick the creature, Nomu like that villain called it, away from the hero. 

Usagi jump and hit the Nomu's elbow's pressure point at the same time as she hit its head. Her staff's hit elbow with enough force for Nomu to let go of Eraser's arm and her kick make it stumble backwards. She hit on the exposed brains and jump front of injured hero. "Stay away from him!" She growl and glare at Nomu and the villain who seem confused. Nomu didn't try to attack her so she quickly kneel next to the hero, put her staff down and take out her last pills. "Eraser, Eraser please, open your mouth. These will help." She plead and confused hero turn his hazy eyes on her and do as told. She put the pills in his mouth.

"Why this NPC is doing something it shouldn't do? Why is it getting in my way?" Villain mumble and start to scratch his neck. Usagi grab her staff, stand up and make her weapon in batons. She move to stand protectively front of Eraserhead. Villain scratch faster and groan. "Nomu, get rid of it." She hear how creature move and manage to turn batons to swords and turn toward the attack. Nomu's punch come fast. Usagi somehow managed to turn her swords tips toward the fist and they dig in to the hilt. It didn't even slow the attack down and she fly. "Kitten!" Eraser managed to yell when she start to fly.

Usagi has to let go of her weapons, she used her legs to soften the punch but still fly fast and far. She hit the ground and roll several times until she hit the boulder with loud crack. Her head spin and she has trouble to breath for a moment. She force her quirk to only heal her bones and internal damages just enough to be able to move again. Her head spin and whole body tremble when she stand back to her feet. She turn to look at laughing and clapping villain who has Nomu next to him. "That was awesome. Are you that vigilante I have heard so much about?" Villain ask with mad grin.

Usagi growl as answer and pull out her handgun and spare knife she has carried with her after that incident in alley when she couldn't defend against knifes. She move on battle stance and see in corner of her eye how Eraser try to stand up. "Don't be an idiot! Get away from here!" He command in desperate tone. She ignore it and start to move closer to the duo. She see how three students stare at her from water and ignore them too. She is only fighter standing, only one between those two and injured hero and his students. There is no way she is going to turn her tail and run. 

"Leave her alone Shigaraki!" Eraser yell and managed to move on his knees. Pills that Usagi gave him has dulled some of the pain and given him extra energy. The villain, Shigaraki, turn to grin at the hero and wave his hand toward her. Nomu jump in move. She start to shoot. The rubber bullets hit the Nomu's brain and eyes and it start to scream and stagger but didn't stop. She sneer and managed to dodge first hit but not the second. "USAGI!" Hero yell in horror.

For everyone's surprise, Usagi didn't start to fly. She has dig her claws on Nomu's arm and flip herself on top of it. She kick the creature's eye and hit her knife in its brain. It start to scream in agony and she managed to twist the blade couple times until it shake her off him. She drop on floor on her back and quickly roll further before turning on her fours. She has also lost her knife, only thing she has left is her claws and handgun. She look how Nomu pull the blade out and throw it away, opposite side of her and wound heal.

"RUN, YOU IDIOT!" Eraser still try desperately to get Usagi run away. She didn't budge, only take couple steps to side to get students out of Nomu's view. "You really are interesting one, Kitten." Shigaraki say with dangerous smirk. She glance at him and see how he start to approach the students. She gasp in shock and jump in move too. His hand land on her face instead of the girl in green costume, nothing happen and he start to grin even more. "You really are awesome, Eraserhead." She hit the man in stomach and kick him further from her and students. Then Nomu's fist hit her side.

Usagi fly again, this time she got direct hit without anything to soften the punch. She hit the next boulder, hard. She feel her bones to break, lungs collapse and her head feel like splitting in two. Her quirk activate itself and start to heal her. She try to scream in agony without succeed. Her lungs didn't have any air in them. Agony of the speed and force her quirk force her body back together make her almost pass out. She command herself to stay conscious and start to raise on her feet again. When she managed to open her eyes again she almost collapse from relief. All Might is here. He is next to Eraser, looking angry, no sign of his familiar grin.

Usagi force herself to move between students and villains again, they have climbed on dry land. "We need to get out from here." She murmur with pained voice and start to lead them while staying between. They follow her command and she keep a close eye on the battle front of them. She move them to Eraser. "Help him up and away from here." She command and green haired boy do as she told. "Kitten... Usagi...." Hero whisper in desperate tone. She continue to ignore him, she need most of her attention and willpower to stay conscious. Her whole body tremble and scream for rest and she feel how blackness wash on edge of her mind. "Not yet. Not yet." She grunt, pray, under her breath.

Usagi almost got knocked over when Nomu and All Might start to change blows. She stagger backwards and barely managed to stay on her feet. "We need to get out from here." Girl she saved say to her while grabbing her shoulder. She hasn't heard any of the things Eraser has tried to tell her, or anything else until girl touched her. "You go, I will stay." She grunt as answer and shake her hand away. "Don't be ridiculous!" Eraser growl and try to take a step toward her. 

Their argument got interrupted by noises of heroes arrival. Usagi almost collapse from relief when Present Mic's familiar voice cut through air. She couldn't help little smile that come to her lips. With that relief, tension start to leave her body and she feel how her legs start to buckle more under her and her body start to sway. She grunt and grab her head. "Usagi?!" Eraser call her. She shake her head and try to force herself to stay awake. "Shit." Is the last thing she managed to say before her legs gave out. She feel how strong arms catch her until darkness take over her.
